I need some help.

Hello and thank you for looking at my thread, anyways as the title says I need help. You see I would love to get into Table Top rpgs but all the core rule books are to expensive for me,(well the more popular ones) so I was wonder is it even possible for me to find a game at all or should I stop trying to find one.

There is a surprising amount of free resources to be found online if you are unable to invest any money into this hobby. Try googling pathfinder srd, 3.5 srd and the likes. Here is also a list of srd sites I found with a quick search though it might not be complete. edit: note that I am not advocating pirating stuff in case you are worried about that, these are openly and legally available pages for reference and information :)

Will roll 20 run on an ipad or does it have to be played on a pc/laptop ? Thanks you for your time and patience.
There are also a surprising number of systems that are, really, free. On top of this you don't always have to have the core book, I've trained plenty of players in specific systems, over time, until they could play it in their sleep. Indeed, most of my current playgroup has learned at least parts of the campaign we had going (Mage the Awakening) during play, and will most likely learn a large part of the new system (TGMC) during play as well.
There are also alot of reference sites around. As far as I recall, i started playing ad&d with buying the handbook but never using it. Dm and other players showed me the ropes around.

Do you know of any One time games that are will to help a new player out? Ps. I am Artyom just want to use this name instead.
First off, you can change your "show" name in your profile settings you know, no need to create a new account ;) Second off, I don't know of any right now but I know of several things I can give you a heads up on. The LFG forums, post there, usually there's a one timer going every few days. Second off, there's the Looking for Group section, not sure how many one-shots are available there though. As for good systems to start out with, not sure, depends on what you want to play really :) So, tell us, high fantasy (dragons and wizards), low fantasy (Game of Thrones), sci-fi, modern (as in set in modern times), dark fantasy (vampires, werewolves, whatever, monsters and horror really) or... what else? :)

And I have seen a few one timers in the looking for groups but most of them require knowledge of the game before hand, even the ones for new players. I willing to learn it's just when I look up online resources I'm lost on what I should read and not read.

There are some groups that run a variety of games which sometimes are one shots. Look through the game listings for those groups and join them. Some of them have 30 plus members and run games daily.
There are one-shots run specifically for newbies, I didn't mean just any one-shot :) If you find one for new players which still requires you to know the system... well that's a bit counter-intuitive to the learning purpose I think. And as for High Fantasy, sounds like Pathfinder would suit you quite well. There are sites that detail the rules online (they're allowed, some are even sponsored by the publisher of the game I think) and it's closely related to DnD 3.5. Personally I'm more of a modern/horror/dark fantasy sort of GM, this time going for historical (late Roman Republic Era) world of darkness.

Cool, by any chance are there GMs that do Call of Cthulhu for new players?
There probably are, though I myself must admit that I do not own the rules for it :)

I've seen CoC games being advertised but I don't know if they were for new players. The only way to find out is to ask the GM.
