[LFG] Brand new player looking to give D&D a try!

As it says above I am a brand new player trying to get into D&D. I have no hands on experience with D&D, everything I know comes from watching streams. Ideally I'm looking for a campaign that has serious themes but doesn't mind being goofy or silly at times, something similar to how the Unexpectables handle it.However beggars can't be choosers so I'm willing to try any that will take me. With me being brad new, I have no idea how to make a character sheet or what is considered lore friendly, so help with that would also be greatly appreciated. Edit: I should have stated sooner, I currently don't have the funds to justify a paid game, sorry for any confusion.
Hi Zorat, check out my active listing. I'm looking to put together a group on Fridays. Not sure if you are interested on pay-to-play, mine is $5 USD per session per player. The listing is below. Thanks! https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5475319/lfp-d-and-d-5e-friday-nights-weekly-pay-to-play-campaign
Hi Juan, sadly I don't currently have the funds to play a paid game on a regular basis, but I appreciate the offer.
No problem zorat! Happy gaming! (Nice profile picture by the way)
I'm also brand new to DnD and would love to find a game filled with other new players to learn together as we go.
Is there any specific versions you're wanting to try? There's Pathfinder, 5th Ed, 3.5 maybe? Just want to know your interests is all, as that can help out

I'm honestly not too sure what the difference between them all is, besides some technical things. So I suppose I don't really have a preference. I'm willing to give any a try just to get a feel of how it is to actually play.
Zorat and Brad I am starting up a FREE campaign in the near future aimed towards newer players. As long as you have an idea of what kinda of character you want to play & a brief background I will be able to help with the techincal stuff. Here is the link if interested https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/88166/dungeons-... Cheers.
