In the previous episode, the heroes of The Blanket Fort Crew were left to
deal with the aftermath of Strahd's show of power. Left reeling from the loss
of their ally, Valarith became much more solemn than before. Our heroes did
their best to assess the situation. Using her bardic abilities to speak with
Father Lucian one last time, Azalea learned a little more regarding Strahds
motivations.
All but Valarith left the church and headed back towards the inn, our
Paladin choosing instead to clean up the church and inter the bodies of George
as well as Father Lucian. Despite the bleakness of the situation, a ray of hope
glimmered as a new ally revealed himself. Rictavio, the travelling entertainer,
advised that the bodies be burned and mentioned that he possessed important
information regarding the mission to bring Strahd's tyranny to an end. He
revealed that he could lead the crew to the fabled sword of sunlight spoken of
in their fortunes by Madame Eva.
Back at the Inn our heroes reconvened, and began to rest but not before
being visited by visions and by Strahd one last time that night. In the
morning, Lucian received a letter, whose contents are yet to be revealed, as
well as Rictavio asking Valarith to meet with him at the showgrounds.
Unfortunately before any of this could be pursued, a commotion was heard
outside the inn. Lady Wachter had apparently decided to make her move and in
that panic it was revealed by Danika Martikov that Ireena had been kidnapped by
Izek, the Burgomasters adopted son just before they awoke that morning...
