Interest Check: Social Pokemon game using Monsters and Other Childish Things.

Looking to see how much interest there would be in a drop-in-and-play Pokemon game (a concept I've dubbed a massive multiplayer tabletop game). Players could drop in, see what other Trainers are on, and challenge them any time. Organized "plot" events would be scheduled for Gym Leader appearances (badges!), villainous team shenanigans, and other large-group activity. The Pokemon would be built using a modified version of Monsters and Other Childish Things, by Arc Dream Publishing. Rules are not required; everything you need to play is on the Pokemon sheets. (Trainers don't get sheets- everyone knows that humans in the Pokemon universe are utterly incapable of doing anything but giving their pokemon instructions, right?) Nothing more complicated than counting to 10. I've taught 8 year olds this system. So... who thinks this sounds interesting?
I might go for this. I personally dont like more than 4 people at the table but yea I do like pokemon.
I was in Satyr's initial alpha-testing group in real life, and it was pretty awesome. The system is seriously easy to pick up and learn, and fairly intuitive once you get the basics down. I cannot recommend this game highly enough.
Me and my little brother are in. Do you have skype?
Id be interested in learning it

I'm down if it's still
I'll let satyr know that this is starting to gain some interest!!
As long as its text based or let me use text chat I'll join I love Pokemon I have that candle pokemon as my starter?
are there limatations on starter pokemon?
Well, since there's interest, I'll start putting together some regulations. I'll post here when I've put up the full game in LFG. Expect to see it within a week.
What we all wanna know is what starters are you using?
Pokemon from all 6 generations will be supported, and I'll definitely be allowing all 18 of the fire/water/grass starters as a "first pick." I'll consider other 3-form lines with first forms that are not unduly oppressive to more traditional starters.
Well the candle pokemon not overtly powerful and I pick Pokemon based on looks.
I'd definitely be interested in something like this depending on what times people were available.
im interested love pokemon
Wolf, the problems with the candle pokemon (Litwick) as a starter are: - it's dual type ghost/fire (thus resisting grass and fire) - and that means it's immune to Normal attacks (and Fighting, but I'm less concerned about that on a starter) Litwick will be available for capture fairly quickly, but I'm not allowing it as a starter.
Hmm can I have a ghost type as a starter?
Duskull would be the only pure Ghost with a three stage evolution.
What about Ghastly?
I'd like to be considered if possible openings. How bout Aron?
This sounds like too much work haha
Satyrwyld said: Duskull would be the only pure Ghost with a three stage evolution. Hell yes I love Duskull he is so adorable only Pokemon I wouldn't evolve XD Thanks for humoring me.
Geodude.
Is there a chance I can get Sudowudo?
Mkay. For right now, for ease of getting started, I'm going to ask everyone to expect to start with one of the 18 fire/water/grass starters from any of the 6 generations. The plan will be to increase everyone's headcount to at least three fairly quickly - one starter, one chosen from a pool, one completely random - but in the interest of getting things underway, expect to have one of the 18 as your first. There will be no limits on how many Bulbasaurs, etc., will be available. I should have the game page up by the end of the weekend.
I wouldn't chose it, but would Pikachu technically be a starter? (Pokemon Yellow)
I considered it, but the dealbreaker was that it's no longer the beginning of its evolutionary line, and pichu has never been a starter.
That makes perfect sense
I'll have a um... the otter Oshawott? Or was that his final form?
Oshawott evolves to dewott, evolves to samurott.
i'll take torchic but am i able to pick outside the starters
I'll snag up Piplup, what night will this be happening?
i guess if were picking now ill take froakie
Can I get a Male Nidoran?
I'll take Bulbasuar!
goatman...satyr wants to stick with the starters... i mean i can ask him, but i think he is pretty set on the starters (he's allowing multiple copies of each starter to exist if needed, after all)
i like goatmans pick

This game is really awesome anyone interested should join, the game runs really well and there is gonna be a event on friday.
This game has a simple combat system and is kinda better than the hand held games because this type is community based so get some friends to play as well.
