[LFP] [D&D 5e] Tomb of Annihilation - Weekdays 9AM Eastern (yes, morning)

Looking for: 1 player Background: Beginners and experienced players welcome. Session length: 3 hours Weekday: varies (see below) Frequency: once per week (usually, see below) Voice/Comms: Discord Applications CLOSED. We got our player. The current group has four members (three players and the DM) who are all very experienced in 5e. We recently finished Storm King's Thunder just in time for ToA after playing together for about a year. There's a healthy age mix in the group with two members in their 30s, one in his 20s and one edgy teenager who is 19 that we only tolerate because he is always available to play. We're starting ToA at level 1 and we need one more player. The party composition right now is a Vengeance Paladin, a Knowledge Cleric and a Moon Druid. Reliable microphone and internet connection required. Players should be at least 18 years of age, although there's not really going to be any adult content besides lots of violence and probably some profane language. The play style will be a healthy mix of hack-and-slash and roleplay. We play D&D 5th edition rules as written. This is a weekday game. We begin at 9 AM eastern US time and usually play for 3 hours. We do not aim to play on the same day of the week every time. Instead, strive to play once per week when everybody can show up - whichever day of the week that might be. We play twice per week if we can (we usually can't) and every once in a while we skip a week. If this is something you are interested in and you'd like to play, please introduce yourself briefly, your timezone and give a summary of your experience with D&D or other RPGs. Also indicate what sort of character you'd like to play. If you've no idea what kind of character you want to play, that's fine too. We can work with you to build your character. Any race or class from any of the official published 5th edition books is allowed, including Unearthed Arcana. Characters should be of a Good or Neutral alignment (evil, insane, or anti-social characters tend to not work well). We use the 27-points buy system for ability scores. Edit: Don't expect a reply from any of us in this thread but you can be sure we are reading all of them! Thanks in advance for applying. Cheers!
I'M NOT EDGY YOU WANKER.
Hi i'm a 25 year old player from the uk, but am free most days at the time you want to play. Ive played the first 5 levels of 5e a multitude of times, but due to players leaving, people moving away etc i have very little experience playing higher levels, which i would really quite like to get to one day. I have DM'd both 4e and 5e. In terms of character i'm pretty easy, although i don't tend to play pal/cleric or gnome/dwarf/halfling. I recently looking into playing Barb or Sorceror, but if the party is lacking a particular archetype i would be happy to play anything.
Hey, I'm looking to play ToA, and would be available to play Wednesday and Friday at 9 A.M. if yal are still looking for another party member. I'm also 25 years old and live in the central time zone.
Hello!  I'm 19 year old end fan that has over a year of experience. I can make any day during the week as long as you understand I might have to leave exactly at 12. I would love to play a bard or a monk though i wouldnt mind playing literally any other class other then sorcerer(I dont like the play style and i believe the wild surges are kinda over powered.).  Character ideas:  Levi.  Deep gnome. Way of open hand monk.  "Levi was a small gnome,  even for her people. Not that she remembered any of them as her first memory was waking up outside of a cave that seemed to have recently caved in. She was scared and wondered the deep forest until she found a wood elf named Melia that was caring for an animal. When Melia noticed the small gnome,  she motioned for her to come closer,  where she took young Levi under her wing. For months,  Melia taught Levi the way of striking with her palm,  and the weak points of those she faces." Rocco.  Half Orc.  College of Lore Bard.  "Rocco was a lean,  tall build of a man. He came from the northern mountains where the winters were harsh and never ending. When he was younger,  both of his parents perished in such a winter,  leaving Rocco with an empty home and endless loneliness. As Rocco was out hunting,  he was caught by a pack of mercenaries. They had been hired to catch a Half Orc in the area that had been causing trouble for a nearby village. Once they realized their mistake,  they offered Rocco a spot in their corps,  to leave the mountain with them and see more of the world. They we're surprised to see that Rocco was more interested in learning then actual fighting,  and carried his drum set where ever he went. " Discord: Shadowlesscloud#9596

Hi there. my names Alex and im 20, i have a fair amount of d&d experience as i currently DM for two other games, one being homebrew and the other being curse of strahd, i would really love to be a player in a game for a game and experience more of that side of the game. I have such a big love for this game i enjoy playing it as often as i can, being able to play a story where literally anything can happen is just amazing to me.  I think that if i were to play it would most likely be a rogue assassin, with the race of a Shifter subrace beast hide. I dont have a back story just yet, but depending on how serious youre wanting your PC's to be. I was think of playing like clumsy rogue, maybe always "forgetting to check for traps" maybe not be as good as stealth as i should be. something like that. if youre wanting something more serious i can come up with something else.  i hope to hear back from you :D P.S if you wish to message me on discord its SSDGM#1627
Name: Mike Experience: been playing since '79 with 1 & 2e, been playing 5e for about 2 1/2 years now. Mostly DMing so I'm always looking to play.  I'm easy going and looking for fun people to play with Time: Available Fridays EST only Character: Paz halfling druid or Lem a elvish rogue
Name: Travis Miller (Also, since it was brought up, I am 22 years of age.) Experience: I've played in a variety of systems, including Call of Cthulhu (6e and 7e), D&D (3.5 and 5e), GURPS, HERO, and Pathfinder, though I'm by far most familiar with D&D 5th edition. I'm not sure how many 5e campaigns I've played in, but it's certainly within the double digits. Time: I work off of CST, and I'm available at the given time Mondays through Fridays. Mondays and Thursdays would be difficult, since my Sunday and Wednesday nights tend to go a bit late, but they're not off the table. Character Ideas:  I would like to know the general pitch of the module and what hooks will be wrangling in the characters before solidifying a concept. No sense in sticking to a character that can't be brought in. I will say that I most likely will play a wizard. If you have any other questions, feel free to message me. Good luck selecting your player, and I hope I can be a worthwhile addition to the team should you choose me.

Name: KK. (yes that is my real nickname) Experience: Been playing D&D/ 5e for about 4 years now, decades of other RP experience of the freeform play by post Star Trek/Fantasy/Modern etc. variety though Time: I’m in the Pacific time zone so this will be very early for me but I actually think this will work out to my benefit, be up bright and early and not have to miss dinner with the family, impedes less on RL social obligations. Available all days but would need some warning from at least the night before to play so I can set an alarm. Character: Don’t have a name yet but a half-elven warlock/sorcerer whose elven parent fled from their family to marry a human. When they ran they took/stole a tome formerly belonging to some among the Fey (pact of the tome) ETC: Love the use of Matt Colville's classification in your profile. The first 5 or so minutes of that video is one every player and DM should watch. I'd say I am primarily a storyteller and I definitely think about the game outside the game so I'd classify myself as a player but if other players/characters tend to be very forward/dominant RP-wise I tend to be a little quieter if they don't try to actively share the spotlight, so more of a support type. I do also like to play optimally so long as the power/tactical choices aren't out of character since most of my characters want to do well and live frankly.
Matita said: I'M NOT EDGY YOU WANKER. So much love in this group. Ok folks things moved pretty fast and we got our player. If you were contacted you are it, if not... tough luck. There were a few we liked but such is life. If for whatever reason the new player doesn't work out, I'll come back here for other names. @KK: Yea every player should watch that video!
