Pathfinder Society: What is it?

Hello friends, Perhaps you are looking to take your game to the next level? Pathfinder Society is the official campaign of Paizo/Pathfinder. Each scenario, module, or adventure path will allow your character to advance and open new options both for your character and your overall family of characters. Online play is spread across every time zone, and you can typically find quite a few games on any given day. We have also begun hosting multitable ( 10 or more ) cross table events using livestreaming where all the tables work together against the clock at a common goal, across all levels and tiers. Another core concept of the Pathfinder Society is that most of the numerous source materials Paizo has printed contain legal options for Pathfinder Society. Owning Companions, Adventure Paths, and Primers will give you some of the options within those books. Ever wanted to play a Garuda Blooded Aasimar Monk ( Zen Archer/ Qingong ) but your GM wouldn't let you? If you own the books containing those options, go ahead! More information can be found on the Paizo Additional Resources page, http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/about/additionalResources . Play anywhere, anytime, with anyone. Interested? Drop by http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety to register your free paizo account, then follow the instructions at http://pathfindersocietyonline.com/gettingstarted/online-player/ You can find games posted to this forum, the Paizo Pathfinder Society Grand Lodge Online Play forums located at the bottum of the Pathfinder Society page, or at independent sites such as https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!forum/pathfinder-society-online-collective If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me, or email us at pfsonlinesvos@gmail.com See you soon, Venture Lieutenant Arthur Perkins

Rivalry's End.
Why not give us a try? Give the rules a quick look over and grab a pregen for next weekends three day holiday ( for America ). You might be pleasantly surprised.
Ok so is it kind of like a pen and paper MMORPG ?
So Pathfinder Society is a bit of a living campaign. Paizo writes scenarios specifically for it that fall into tiers, like level 1-5 or 3-7. Youll want a GM and 2-6 companions, as tables can be as small as 3 ( but typically more like 4 ) and as large as 7 ( but only in emergencys, the soft cap is 6). Many of the scenarios within specific seasons are interrelated, and some scenarios carry over storylines from previous seasons. In the last two years they have been working on developing the meta campaign pretty well so there is continuity. You can also choose to play by sanctioned modules or even some adventure paths. Someone was working up the numbers, looks like just on the Pathfinder Society Online Collective alone there are about a dozen games a week, and you can probably find double that between fellows here like Kroama ( I believe ) and other games on the Paizo boards.
Are there any editable PDF chronicle sheets available? If so where does one find them?
Yes there are. The scenarios are PDF's themselves, and you can use any pdf editor to rip the copy of the chronicle out the back and fill it in. Many online GM's do this.
A.P. said: Yes there are. The scenarios are PDF's themselves, and you can use any pdf editor to rip the copy of the chronicle out the back and fill it in. Many online GM's do this. Is this something your familiar with how to do? If so could you explain?
Hmm... you said online play is spread across every time zone, yet all I have been able to find are games that start and end roughly at the same time (which is after midnight for me). Am I doing something wrong, or does Pathfinder Society have limited time zones at the moment? (I assume all times listed are EST)
The group that tends to post their signups here work around that particular time frame. If you try the Pathfinder Society Online Collective, they do have some more variety in game times.
Youll want to grab games on the Pathfinder Society Online Collective. While it is harder to find european and australia/asia games because most GM's wont schedule them, its easier to find games during your playtimes by posting asking for a spontaneous game. There are usually so many people available that it can be easy to pull one together.
Always looking for more members and GMs. There are also rumors on the horizon of an All Online All PFS Convention coming soon, available primarily through Roll20.
I joined Pathfinder Society in real life I really can't use audio chat so not sure it be good idea to join a game online hmm..
Some Gm's do require audio. It significantly improves the game since the game is in part roleplaying. Personally at my tables I do require it. Headsets generally range in price. The one I use cost me about $10
I think the problem with audio chat is less with the headset and more with the service used for it. Ventrilo/Mumble requires a server to connect to; Skype needs an account and can be resource intensive. Google+ Hangouts is what I use, mostly because there's none of the hassle there.
As always, looking for more players and GM's. Come and experience the unique setting of an online, living campaign. The outcome of your missions change the storyline as reporting post session is tallied by Paizo campaign staff. Directly affect what you are playing on such a personal level.
Offering a PFS game tonight via Roll20. if your new, feel free to use a pregen if you want. The signup is at: https://app.roll20.net/forum/category/22
We are, as always, looking for more players and GM's. Consider joining the movement for one of the fastest growing official campaigns.
Still looking for players and GM's. A series of classes on GMing are beginning soon, after which we can anticipate a rise in games.
For those that are interested in trying it out, would anyone be interested in a beginners game on Feb 07, 2013 @ 08:00 pm EST? It would last for about 4 hours. If so private message me. PFS is an amazing thing to get involved in.
Hello All. I'm a complete noob when it comes to tabletop rpg's. To be honest I only started getting pumped about it because of a D&D campaign that one of the people I follow on Twitch was playing. Anyway, I bought the Pathfinder beginner box and have been trying to play with my wife and sister but their schedules don't match up very often. We've only gotten about an hour into the beginner encounter and I really want to play with some people. That being said, I really need a mentor to help out with creating a PFS character and running a few encounters to get my feet wet. I also live in Vancouver, WA so some of the times that people post don't really work for me...
As always, looking for more players and GMs to join us in our global phenomenon. The campaign continues to grow larger and more robust every year, with this year seeing multiple meta storyline resolutions and player actions changing the nature of the writing.
Your email doesn't work.
It could be a google problem, as they have had that over the last few days. I just tested it and the email address is working correctly however: pfsonlinesvos@gmail.com
This looks very promising, hopefully i can find a game with my weird work schedule i created an ID, wasnt to hard as im already registered on the main pathfinder website
As always, we are looking for more players for the living campaign reaching across the globes. Why try Pathfinder Society? The formalized setting means setup is quick, GM's dont employ surprise house rules, and you can use content from sourcebooks you own which opens up vast character creation options. With over 100,000 players, the campaign is moving to a unique area of roleplaying entertainment. Find out more at www.paizo.com/pathfindersociety
As always, we are available to help get you started. There is an upcoming gameday on March 1st with many new player friendly games. It is a great time to get involved!
As an aside, Roll20 is a great way for local PFS branches to deal with inclement weather and other scheduling conflicts. Recently, the Kansas City PFS guys had a snow day game here on Roll20. It worked out quite well for us, and we have subsequently begun considering options for future games. Even some thoughts on synchronous games with an in-store group so landlocked players can contribute. Still in discussion, but that we're having that discussion is actually quite nice.
Почему такие проблемы с сообществом в России?) Водка, матрёшка, медведь. Какие ваши даказатъельства? Living in Russia is sad for a player who wishes to join. There is a Venture-Captian in Moscow but it looks like nothing significant happens here.
Always looking for more players.
As the campaign grows, this season is seeing its highest level of interactivity between players and the creative staff. It is an ideal time to help shape Golarion.
Okay, my confusion has hit the boiling point. I was looking on paizo.com pathfinder society events, and I came across the roll20 event. It says to contact Andreas, but the material is not a link, and my searches through this forum have turned up nil. I just want to play a PFS game tonight, and contact the coordinator. Can anyone help?
Heath, I have sent you a reply via private message that may clarify your confusion. Feel free to post here for further clarification if needed.
Heath, the events posted on Paizo.com are rarely as accurate as they could be. You are better off searching these roll20 forums, or looking at the pathfinder society forums at http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety and looking under Pathfinder Society Grand Lodge Online Play section, near the bottum.
