[LFG] New to... well... all of this! But would love to find a 5e group.

So here is my brief (and sad) story.  Over 20 years ago my best friend and I bought the books for AD&D 2e.  We were so excited!  We spent weeks creating a variety of characters while we tried to find others to play with us, or groups to join.  We never made it further than that.  I never played a single game.  Have played lots of MMORPGs, and did a bit of freeform roleplay over the years.  I've always loved it... always regretted never getting to play d&d but had given up on it. Only in the last month or so did I discover that playing online was an option.  Since then, I bought and read the PHB for 5E.  Have created a couple of characters for play-by-post type games, but I'm dying to get into a regular group with voice (or voice/video if I must) and play in real time.  Unfortunately, the only way I can be sure I'll be able to attend regularly is to play quite late.  I'm in EST, and ideally would like to find a game starting somewhere between 10pm-11pm (Sun, Tues-Thurs) or between 10pm-midnight (Fri/Sat) As I'm still very much learning/discovering the game... there isn't much I'm not will to try in terms of race/class, but would prefer to start at level 1... and definitely want to stick with 5e for now.  (Even though I've already ordered the Starfinder book as well.) I'm comfortable with a pay2play game as long as the first session is free to make sure there is a good synergy between DM & players.
Hi Zelrick! I have a couple players setting up a paid group for weekday nights (tentatively Tuesday), ~11pm EST. We'll be running the newly released Tomb of Annihilation. If you're interested, do add me on Discord: UnityNooblet#3614 Here's the details and benefits I'm offering: My rates are $5 / hour. Max 5 hours/session. It's not the lowest, but not astronomical either. Equate it to buying movie tickets. I do this full time, and have 30+ happy players. You are welcome to meet them yourself. My groups are stable and have never collapsed. That's the main value and attraction I offer. My players range from new (first games ever were with me) to old school (D&D 1e). I'm always available for discussion and help, no charge. No more applying to a dozen games hoping to get accepted to one. No flaky teammates or DMs. Flaky players get removed ASAP from my sessions. No real life interruptions on the DMs side (barring absolute emergencies). No oversized parties that take forever to do anything. You finally get to play a regular, consistent long-term campaign and build up your character and his/her backstory, without worrying the group is going to die next session. You are of course free to decline I understand that some people have limited budgets and others just don't agree with the concept. That's fine, and if you are one of those, I sincerely wish you the best of luck in finding a game that fits you.
