
In the year 2018 there is a widespread pandemic of flu in the urban Michigan area. it spreads like wildfire until.. 1 death. then 3 deaths. then 12 deaths. then none as the dead rise again. you are a group of neighbours growing up just outside urban Boston when you hear of all hell breaking loose..
this will be a sort of atmospheric campaign set in modern day, no magic or elves just you and the possibility of death. this campaign will require that you get into character and get your morals in check.
as this is a "real" world scenario everyone is human by default and classes are modified to fit the situation, the modified classes will be posted somewhere.
SPEAKING OF CLASSES HERE THEY ARE:
BARBARIAN :
the rough and tumble sort, club bouncers, sport hunters, guys who watch too much wrestleing.
although a bit slow this class packs a mean punch, proficient with heavy and two handed weapons as well as having the trait KNOCK IT DOWN: advantage on strength checks or saving throws that involve breaking something or bowling someone over.
BARD:smooth talking and sophisticated, you arnt alive because of your killer instinct or inhuman ability, no, your alive because you've talked your way into a big group with a lot of guns. this class is for those good with words, the deceitful and cowardly. as this class you may know how to play one instrument of your choice as well as gain IM ON YOUR SIDE: advantage on deception checks made well unarmed.
CLERIC:a doctor, nurse, medical student, you were helpless to stop the spread of flu so you remained at home to study.. which saves your life. this class is for the kind and gentle, lawful good and upwards as you understand the horrid nature of this situation and just want to help. this class has two special traits HEALING TOUCH: advantage on all medicine checks and PHARMACIST: can identify any drug or medicinal substance without a check.
DRUID:an animal lover through and through you saved your dog (a dog breed of your choice) as opposed to grabbing as much food as you could. as a result your trusty companion has aided you a great deal, fitting into small spaces and so forth. your bond is strong and as a result if your companion has vision of you, hand signals may be used over verbal commands as well as gaining GOOD BOY: your companion does not require stealth checks if already unseen
FIGHTER:a brawler of sorts you know how to fight.. from bars to gangs to boxing you throw a mean punch and can take one too. you are proficient with simple weapons such as knives or even a broken bottle as well as gaining ROCKY: advantage on unarmed strikes, if made against another person rolling a 19 will critical strike.
MONK:the voice of reason, you help with your soothing tone. not one for conflict you try to settle things peacefully and quietly as opposed to violence. as a result this class gains the trait DOUBLE EDGED SWORD: your calm behaviour gives you advantage on all persuasion and stealth checks however -1 to all attack rolls as you've never shot a gun before or killed a man with a knife.
PALADIN:you are the law. a police officer, swat, firefighter. you are brave and stoic against the odds. your experience has given you proficiency with one handed weapons, athletics and survival. you gain the active trait A FRIEND OF A FRIEND: you may use your action once per short rest to finish off an enemy recently damaged by an ally.
RANGER:cold and collected you arnt a social person. a hard life emotionally and financially has left you alone.. but skilled. as a ranger you have advantage on all rolls if no allys are within 20 feet. you are also proficient in simple weapons such as knives along with bows and crossbows on top of having the trait MOODY: insight checks made on this class are made at disadvantage.
ROGUE:"I'm the quick. your the dead" quick witted and fast on your feet you can outrun most situations. proficient in stealth and acrobatics you are the unseen blade when everything hits the fan. attacks made within melee range are at advantage as well as gaining the trait SHIV: attacks made after a successful stealth check with a melee weapon do not need an attack roll.
SORCERER:the sort of oddball you are imaginative and creative. this class simply put gets the trait: ENGINEER: with the required materials this class with DM disgression may craft or make objects such as weapons or traps and has advantage on wisdom saving throws
WARLOCK:its alive.. ITS ALIIIIVE. you are fascinated with this sudden plague afflicting local residents and have very questionably studied it. as a result you have an adept knowledge of its regenerative abilities and feats. you have advantage on rolls made against undead as well as gaining the trait MAIN CHARACTER EX MACHINA: immunity to infection by all sources
WIZARD:
a master of your craft you are smart and skilled in all fields. chemicals and machinery are your playground, you are proficient in wisdom and intelligence checks as well as wisdom saving throws. your skills in math and physics grant you proficiency with firearms as well most notably this class may critical on a role of 17 with rifles on top of its trait I CAN FIX IT: this class does not need to spend an action fixing a misfired weapon and may make intelligence checks to fix or hotwire veichles.
NOTES FOR ALL CLASSES:all classes will have a base walking speed of 30 feet as well as having 1d10 hit dice and all sharing a health pool of 10+ your constitution modifier. OTHER NOTE: DISCORD IS A MUST
