using macros in abilities window is very buggy

When I try to add macros using #, I often have to save the changes, then edit it again to get it working.  One of the things that messes me up is how when auto completing a macro reference, like #1[W]+Str for example, after hitting enter to complete it the cursor is sent to the end of the text field, so I can't put a space after it.  If I click a space before or after the macro and type, it highlights what I type as if it is part of the macro.  So, I can't type anything before or after a macro.  I guess if I typed everything perfectly the first time without having to go back and edit, it would probably work.
I too have problems here. In the edit abilitie window i enter a macro with # and choose the macro, then a + and with @ an attribute. Sounds simple, eh? When i use that abilitie, i get the text '# + @' in the chat window, and no dice results. [rant on] Man, and im paying for this! Sorry to say this, but i get rather unnerved by the many bugs this tool has. Im not expecting everything to work perfectly, butyou need to fix these very basic issues really fast.[rant off]

Lord Orlando, I apologize that you are having so many difficulties.  Could you elaborate on what your problem is? Specifically, what is the macro name, the macro content, and what are you trying to put into the chat window. Exact phrasing is helpful.  Besides your bug report regarding copying and pasting from other websites or your clipboard (which is not a bug btw, I do not know if you ever saw that) have there been any other bugs that have been giving you issues? If so, please report them so that they can be corrected. - Gauss
In my experience they do seem to fix the bugs really fast (so far most of them have been fixed in <24 hours after being reported) so the chances that you will get you wish are pretty good! :) And yes, I know there have been quite a few bugs on here lately, but there's also been a lot of new features and upgrades to old ones. The sad fact of reality is that lots of new features = lots of new bugs.
Thanks for the quick reply!  The Problem is: i have a macro for dice rolling, 'w' . I open the character sheet and edit. I add an abilitie. In the editor window i enter a # and choose the macro. Then a + .Then i enter @ and chose an attribute from the drop down. The editor now shows 'w+ @'.  When i activate that abilitie, the chat window only shows  'w+ @'. I did this on windows xp sp3, on firefox (everything updated). I just tried to recreate the problem on the ipad, when i entered the char sheet edit window everything freaked out, couldnt enter any text or go back, needed to restart the session. Next time it worked, i enterd the macro (no dropdown here, needed to spell the macroname out)and it would roll, yay, but the attribute wouldnt...arrr..See what i mean? Today i created a card deck with infinite numbers of cards (as a bean counter). Whenever i tried to deal a card it said something in the vein of no cards left, wtf?... but after lots of trying(and some nerves lost)I accidentaly shuffeld the cards and it suddenly worked. Yes, the copy/paste thing isnt a bug, i just cant do it from other websites, thats all. Oh, and i really dont need this feature right now;-) So, no hard feelings, i do love roll20 and intend to stick with it, but i think buggieness is an issue that needs to be adressed.

Lord Orlando, if there are issues regarding using your ipad could you please post a (separate) bug report? Thanks Regarding the macro: Please correct any misunderstandings I may have: 1) You have a Macro (in the settings) called 'W'  2) What is in the Macro body?  3) What is the name of the Attribute (@) you are using? 4) What is the numerator of the Attribute you are using? 5) You have an Ability (in the character sheet). What is it called? 6) In the Ability Body you have the following: #W +@Attribute Regarding the cards, if I understand you correctly, this is not a bug. You may need to shuffle the cards the first time for them to work. Even on infinite. - Gauss
Ok, here we go... 1.) yes 2.) /roll d6-d6 3./4.) Nahkampf / 3 5.) Nahkampf 6.) There is a 'w' with yellow background '+' and 'Nahkampf' with blue background after entering the syntax with # and @ and choosing the Macro/Attribute respectively. The output changed now, it says '#w#w#w + 3' !? @cards: sure thats how it works. But its its a tad unintuitive to me

Lord Orlando,  I am assuming your 3) and 4) really mean:  3) Nahkampf 4) 3 In the ability body which of the following are true: Note: W is in green and Nahkampf is in blue. A) W +Nahkampf B) W+Nahkampf (note the lack of a space) If there is no space between W and + the result will be #W+3  Regarding cards, I would recommend suggesting any changes you would like to see.  - Gauss
[SOLVED] The spaces did the trick. Thanks for your Help! [P.S.:When i think about it -I wasnt expecting this. My expectation was, if i choose something from a dropdown menu it should work as advertised. Of course, if i d use, say pascal, c++ or some other cli i may ve thought about that possibilitie first. My suggestion is to expect the user to be just as spoiled as myself :-) ]
