Hiya New Here

Hello I'm Wolf and I just joined tonight like an hour ago lol. I can't wait to start roleplaying but I must admit.. I can't use vid chat or my mom would kill me as this is her pc. I also noticed no one with World of Darkness.. Am I the only fan of it on here? >.<
Welcome to Roll20 WolfCleric! Fortunately, few campaigns require a videocamera; however most will require voice thru microphone and headset, but not all. Take a while to read the Wiki, watch a few intro videos, and read the forums and you'll find everything you need to know to play... and if you don't, post up and someone will be glad to help you get started!
Don't worry about not being able to use video chat. A lot of games are voice only, some are text only. I personally use a separate Ventrilo server for my games and just disable Roll20's embedded voice/video feature. Just be sure as you look for games to join that you check for their voice/video requirements. If a listing doesn't mention it up front, be sure to ask.
Well that's unfurnatate.. my mom is crazy paranoid and thinks everyone is a stalker and won't let me use that stuff.
Well, don't give up. Like I say, some games are text-only which sounds like what you need. Just keep searching, something will turn up. Some games might even let you join as text-only, even if the other players are using voice/video. Never hurts to ask.
Yeah thanks. I may be a bit uneducated with R20 but I wanna start my own campaign and I learn easier by just doing lol.

After watching a few of the tutorial videos, you should be ready to go - everyone here had to start with zero experience too at some point. Ask if you run into any trouble. Good luck!
Yeah vids really don't help lol I am more hands on learner I can't really learn via example.

There's a handful of World of Darkness games available by the look of it if you do a search through our Looking for Group system.
Hopefully no one wants to run Changeling The Lost but might join it as I looked up CtL and Geist Sin Eaters and only topic I found was for Changeling and it was 7 months ago o.O

WolfCleric - I'd recommend a double-edged attack on learning roll20. 1) Get in a game as a player. This will introduce you to some of the complexities of virtual table-top gaming. 2) build a small trial campaign just to build it. Don't run anyone through it. Just get used to building maps, making tokens, assigning token actions (new feature and really cool), making macros, making handouts and character sheets (journal entries that mimic character sheets). I don't get into API as I don't do JAVA and I don't feel it is necessary. However, if you do know JAVA or don't mind trying to learn it, it is really a cool feature. Voice chat. Work on your mom. Let her listen in on a gaming session or two. Most of what she hears will bore the crap out of her I'm sure. Just try to find a group with little to no foul language (can be difficult).
I don't know anything bout java.
When I ran games for teens we used to invent swear words. So of you missed an attack you might call out Gullibers boots!
lol I invent cuss words but do swear.

To find fans of a particular game is easy. You go to the Looking for Group section. On the left will be a box to pick from a list of major popular game-systems on Roll20. If you want to find a game-system that is NOT listed in the selection list, you can type the title of the game as a search term on the right instead. If I select "World of Darkness" (there's also "New World of Darkness"), I get a list of campaigns like this. But you still have to see if the meeting-times and the type of game is suitable for you. <a href="https://app.roll20.net/lfg/search/?days=&dayhours=" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/lfg/search/?days=&dayhours=</a>...
