Wanted: Players for Futuristic Post Apocalyptic sci-fi/fantasy game running every other Friday ~8:00 GMT

I'm looking for 4-7 players for an RPG set in the rifts universe (Palladium's, not Trion's) but using a modified version of the dark heresy rules. No rulebooks or knowledge of either system is required (if anything, a lack of knowledge of Rifts could be beneficial) and RPG new comers are more than welcome. I'm probably looking to run on Friday evenings (GMT) but can be pretty flexible if Friday isn't any good and I'm a night owl so can accommodate if there's a full party from the states etc. The setting: Adapted from Palladium Books 'Rifts Ultimate Edition'. "The end of human civilization came without warning. One moment all was right in the world, the next moment absolute chaos reigned. Every single ley line around the world surged and exploded with energy, erupting and spewing forth destruction each at the same time creating a wave of destruction that washed over the entire world. Great storms swept the planet one after another, tidal waves, earthquakes and tornadoes toppled the great cities as if they were made of paper. Mountains heaved and shattered, the oceans rose up to swallow the coast and billions of people perished in a matter of hours." As well as the magical storms the Great Cataclysm also summoned rifts into the world, huge swirling inter-dimensional portals which seem to connect to random points in space and possibly time.Through these portals come many horrifying creatures, from dragons and vampires to daemons and aliens. Humans are now a extinct on most of the planet and spend every day fighting to saves their lives. Over the course of a single day earth went from being an insignificant planet to an inter-dimensional transport hub. The Game: I'm posting this to gauge interest in a campaign (possibly starting in about a month) which would focus on investigation and mystery with short, brutal bits of combat thrown in. The exact reason for your characters being together will depend on the group make-up, but we might start of as working for a small detective agency and see where things go from there. -That said, I've found the best way get the characters together is to wait until after character generation and see if anything spawns naturally from that. My DMing style: I'm a fan of very open world games so I've got a vague sense of the 'big players' that will be plotting and scheming and how that could affect your characters but if the group suddenly decides to go to the other side of the planet on a whim, then that's fine with me. I also like playing with a characters morality and adding very subtle bits of plot hinted at during a campaign. 90% of these will be missed completely, but the bits that you do spot will give you a fantastic opportunity to ruin someone's plans (or join them). Failing that you might remember those seemingly insignificant details upon the big reveal at the end of an adventure will make you think "Aaaah, of course - we should have guessed what was going on ages ago. Either way, much fun can be had by all. Interested? If you're interested please let me know what experience you have in Rifts/Dark Heresy/RPGing - no experience/knowledge is needed it'd just be good to get a rough idea. Also, if you have any character concepts that you've been wanting to try out. Don't worry about the classes at this point - (they've been changed from DH ones) we'll get to those soon enough but something I've always been interested in playing a... "mad inventor", "tough as nail army army soldier", "diabolical magic user" would be a useful start if you have such desires. Please ask away if you do have any questions.
Sounds awesome! I have no experience with the systems, but I learn quickly. I'm looking to play a scout-type character, that will run ahead of the group and set up in a position where he can pick off opponents. Also, I live in GMT as well, so Friday at 8 is fine for me :)
Yea I'm interested too. I have played in a lot of Pathfinder and other D20 systems. I have a brief experience with dark heresy but quite some knowledge in Rogue Trader. Also I have been playing tabletop RPG for around 6 months or so. I much prefer tanky melee characters above all.
Ideally looking for one more player hopefully starting Friday of next week.
Sent a PM as inquiry!
