LFM Serenity RPG

Looking for people for a firefly/serenity RPG. I am willing to DM, but would prefer to be a PC, so if someone else is willing to DM then great. If not I'm looking for 6 or so players. The campaign would start around a month from now at the beginning of February, once a week, on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday depending of the preference of the group starting somewhere between 2 and 6 pm GMT. Considering the time between now and the first session this is more of a topic to see If there are any people interested in a Serenity RPG and we can discuss the specifics on a later date. I'm a big Serenity/Firefly fan, and I own the system books (and dvds etc of course). Problem is, finding time to play may be very tough, with Friday for sure not being possible. I'd like to be involved in the ongoing discussion, please, in case I can find time.

I am in the Pacific Time Zone. I can GM Sunday mornings (for me) which translate to Sunday evenings for you guys I think. I am very familiar with the cortex rules.

I can do saturdays, but it turns out sundays aren't going to work for me after all. It's far more important to have a GM though, so if that's the time he needs, I can bow out.

I do not know my availability for Saturday as of yet. If its early in the morning[for me], I should be available.

I have a few questions. First can you spend more than 42 attribute points on attributes (greenhorn) if you gain more points via complications. Secondly is it ok with everyone if I play a captain/doctor/mechanic character who is really weak physically, and if it is ok can I use my moneyed individual asset bonus for the first session to get money to buy a ship of quality equal to my intelligence + influence roll,

Captain/doctor/mechanic? That doesn't leave much to play with for the rest of us. Guess you're a one-man crew.

Well we should have more of the important roles on the ship, because if the mechanic/doctor/pilot/face/captain/fighter/hacker/covert operative botches a roll or can't perform a set task at a crucial moment you will need someone to pick up the slack or we would be humped so honestly making one trick ponies would be a bad idea and we should have at least two guys to cover the most crucial tasks like pilot,mechanic,doctor etc. you can have one mechanic who is great at maintanence and repair and another at crafting mechanical components, But if people prefer to be the only person that is good at a certain thing so they can shine then I'll just choose one specific skill to be good at.

I'm okay with it as long as you stick to the jack of all trades rule about not being the best at it.

You can get more attribute points but it requires 16!! Complication points over.

Usually captain is well rounded. I would imagine as the captain/doctor/mechanic, you have nothing higher than a d8 in skills except maybe combat or discipline. The doctor would probably need healer's touchbonesaw or whatever the asset is

we have pretty much all essential roles filled except a pilot. So, if anyone wants to play a pilot, please contact me, because probably that will be the last empty spot for the campaign

Thanks for the group invite. Looking to find a place among the crew. I can take the pilot spot if it ends up being open if not I'm flexible. Got to take what work there is out on the edge ;)

Hello Michael! Sorry to say, but I believe the crew is full. If you are interested, I can let you know if anyone drops. Also, if you are interested, i don't mind running you through a demo of the system so you can see it in action.

I would be interested in both of those things! Shiny. I'm not surprised the crew is full, had I been a member of the site before today I would have jumped on it too.
