Last we saw our heroes, they had only just begun to recover from the loss
of their friend, Valarith. Some angry, some mournful and some still in shock.
Despite the loss their numbers seem to be bolstered by the presence of a new
ally. A half-elf dressed in foreign clothes alongside a human of equally
foreign origin.
After a few pleasantries the group made their way back to the Blue Water
Inn, where they decided that while the Lady Wachter and the crowd were busy,
they would make their way towards her home to retrieve the book Madame Eva told
of in their fortunes. Nikael however, saw a face headed towards the Inn along
the way to the mansion and decided to follow Valdr instead, ensuring the party
that he would catch up to them.
While all this was occurring, a red haired man brandishing a whip argued
with the crowd regarding the innocence of the Burgomaster. It was apparent that
this individual was not from Barovia. Despite some effort, the red headed Emrys Neidhart was unable to prevent the entire crowd from hanging the Burgomaster and his
family. Frustrated with his inability to persuade the crowd, Emrys headed
straight towards the inn where he chose to take his anger out on Danika. Not
wanting the gallows to become overused, she decided to placate him with humour
but it did little to assuage his foul disposition. As soon as he obtained his
drink he stumbled into the conversation between Valdr and Nikael.
Not wanting to cause a scene, both of them encouraged Emrys to accompany
them on a mission of importance and all three of them headed towards Lady
Wachters house where they spent some time searching for the rest of the group
that had headed there previously. Would they find what they were looking for,
or would they be discovered by their enemies...?
