Looking for Interest in Vampire: the Masquerade campaign

Hi all, New to roll20, but interested in running a Vampire: the Masquerade game. I've run and played in many V:tM campaigns IRL, but my current gaming group prefers other systems and I'm in need of a fix of vitae. Curious to see how many people would be interested in playing, if there's enough interest I'll put together a more detailed post with setting/backstory etc. I live on the east coast of Australia, but am somewhat of a 'night owl' so can accommodate US timezones if need be. If you're interested in playing, please let me know your preferred time/day.
My UNavailability: Tues-Sat 12a - 430a Sat 230p + EST Hopefully not a munchkin laden discipline fest.
Definitely not! I'm big on the intrigue/storytelling elements, elder puppet-mastery and the struggle to fight off the beast, not shovel-head raids!
Groovy. I'm hip. I don't mind powerful characters, as long as they are. One of my faves was a pacifist elder combat god. Got ignored and beat up a lot.
Hi, I'm also new to roll20, and to V:TM. I have played pen and paper games before, I still play with a group of friends in real life every week, we play D&D 2nd edition. I love grim and dark settings (Ravenloft). My timezone is gmt+1 and can play every day besides wednessday, and sunday at around 19:00- 00:00 and thursdays is my day off so I should be able to play the entire day then (unless its after midnight).
Hello, I'm a newbie to all things that are dice, but I've heard good things about V:TM from a buddy of mine. Granted, you'd have to hold my hand to get me rolling, but I'm a fast learner. My timezone is US Eastern Standard, and my guaranteed availability is Tuesdays, but I can probably wrangle that guarantee to a different day to accommodate the group majority.
Yes.
omg yes please
not sunday
Definitely interested (By merit of it not being D20, and it having the possibility of being during hours where I can actually play); I can be there at roughly the same times as FuzzySheep.
I love to join as a vampire, i play for too many years
Suggest setting up some kind of repeat status update, as in tomorrow next, otherwise this very strongly tends to end in aimless enthusiasm and idle confusion i.e. "Don't start the mower, and not cut the grass." Sorry if that is too blunt, but 'wouldn't it be great' syndrome is a chronic problem.
I am currently free anytime and am very interested in playing some vampire eager to await your response!
Alright, looks like there's enough interest so I'll start putting something together... with my current workload, it'll probably be shortly after the 10th of Feb that I can start running a game. Gimme a few days to get plot and setting mapped out and I'll post something more concrete :)
Great news, can't wait. I should be finished with my exams by then so that's perfect timing for me. Update us when your ready! Take care fuzz
this sounds awesome. I've been looking for a Vampire group for a while, in fact i got a link to this forum as a post in my own looking for group thing. We just need a GM, but if you'll have me in your group, i'll gladly join. I am unavailable monday and tuesday from 4-10 pm, but can play any time other than that. I already made a character, a Brujah, but i used freebie points to buy the protean and fortitude disciplines. If you won't let me play a brujah starting with protean, i'll switch him to caitiff and have protean, potence, celerity, and fortitude as my discpilines. Most of them with only one point. I just wanna be a brujah cuz I want to be part of a clan and I like them.
Might be interested in this
Oh I would love a VtM game (V20 or rev Ed.), so if you still got room I'd love to be in, depending on the day of course. Weekends and Wednesday are bad for me so far (Wednesday might work depending on the time). I'm in GMT+1 timezone, so I don't mind at all if the game is not at US times :)
have u got a game going
Too many interested in playing, noone is offering to GM.   We have enough to start if someone will step up.

cool cool, 10 feb

Clarification: You should well note, the "quote" "end quote". That's all he wrote.
who  me
@Anoobis Okay, I'll do it the boring way. I reposted/quoted Matt N. f/ 1w pref. The 'tenor' of the subsequent entries lead me to believe that you and RayM weren't tracking.
I can definitely play on Feb 10th.  a sunday game would be great for me, hope we stik to that time slot.
I've heard of this game. Never played. Would love to play, if newbs are ok?
Looks like there is quite the interest in joining in, something I'd like to try myself as well, but I've only recently started studying the VtM core rulebooks, ad will be busy with schoolwork until around mid-February, but if there would be no more room in the group, would it be possible to hang out in the shadows and observe some experienced players at work?
May be a moot point. We'll see if this passes the 'wouldn't it be cool' /IRL happens" stage. If you wish to be literarily literal though, you may want to check out Lasombra/Obtenebration. Sabbat might be a no go tho.
I'd love to play a VtM game. I've played a couple chronicles in the past and really enjoyed the more narrative aspects of the rpg. If you have room in your group my schedule is currently very open. I can make any day and time besides Thursdays 5pm-1am est. If you're looking for any new players please let me know. May the night embrace you coldly.
If it is a go, whatever version is used, I hope the new dice mechanics apply. The old ones only function via ignorance/consensual 'reality.', this mostly due to the way successes are determined/dice pools.
I dont know what TM means by new dice mechanics.  Is my character concept ok?  An ex-soldier with protean? It was taught to me by my sire who learned it from a gangrel friend.
From&nbsp; <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dice_pool" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dice_pool</a> "Famously, early versions of the&nbsp; Storyteller System &nbsp;sometimes made rolling botches (critical failures) more likely the higher your skill or attribute was, since a critical failure would occur if any of the dice came up as a "1"; the probability that at least one "1" will be rolled increases the more dice are rolled, and so highly-skilled characters would botch surprisingly frequently, whereas poorly-skilled characters could frequently get away scot-free. This problem was eliminated in the Revised version of the system and later derivatives by stating that a botch only occurred if no normal successes were scored,&nbsp; and &nbsp;one of the dice came up "1"." Rather humorously, WW spent years in denial of the above, despite numerous lucid evidences to the contrary, then likewise humorously 'discovered' the glitch later, curiously proximate to the release of VtR. Just one example of the problems. Another would be the practically pointless purchasing of abilities &gt; 8. Profoundly diminishing returns.&nbsp; VtR fixed and improved the aforementioned. Setting/version otherwise subjective. Math isn't.
That information is... false. In the original storyteller system a botch occours if the number of "1" you roll is greater than the number of successes you roll. For high difficulty rolls this did made botches slightly more likely with high dice pools, but nowhere as likely as that quote implies. As the quote suggest this was fixed in the revised edition (wich is not VtR and neither V20, it's from 1998 and likely the one most player ever saw), by changing the rule for botches (botch became a roll with at least one "1" and no successes). That's a whole 6 years before VrR. Also, expressing interest for the game, pending more details and compatible timeslots.
Without further quibbling, hopefully the original point is understood i.e. "Don't use broken rules".&nbsp; On that note. I'm out.
Definitely interested!&nbsp;
Wow, haven't played this in ages. I miss Diablerizing things. haha kidding. :) Definitely interested as well.
Hopefully matt N hasn't forgot about us.&nbsp;&nbsp; 3 more days till we know
I'd be interested too, weeknights would work best for me.
so are we gonna play tomorrow?&nbsp; I really hope so.
i we do play tomorrow, what time?&nbsp; I'm good for anytime.

oh, AFTER feb 10th, oops.&nbsp; well, i hope we start soon.&nbsp; and playing on sunday would be really good for me.&nbsp; I can't do monday or thursday.
i'd love to play, played werewolf always wanted to play vamp
Been Looking for a game for ages... im kinda new to the system tough, But im very willing to learn before we start... Id be more then interested if you still need people.
Well, Unless SOMEONE ELSE steps up. &nbsp; This turned into a 'wouldn't it be nice' thread that hit a brick wall. &nbsp; GM flaked out on us. Any other takers?
There's no such things as vampires.

I guess I should have looked around a bit more for this thread...I just posted a thread of my own for a game of V20. I have the tabletop nearly prepped &amp; want to go through character creation sometime this weekend or atleast during the week. I won't be flaking out &amp; am very keen on getting a campaign running.
