Creating a character before joining any campaign?

Hey everyone, im super super new here and would love to eventually join a group. My main thing is i would love to spend some time building my character before i even find a group so i know that when i go in i can import and be ready! Is this possible or what do i have to do to prepare?

All you have to do is create a game and choose what sheet you are going to use then go to town. You can use  the character vault to store the character sheets but whose ever game you join would need to have it enabled so you can import into their game.

Thanks for the quick reply, ill do that all in a minute, what would happen if they dont have that enabled? Just have to go through and do it super fast?

You would have to redo the sheet in the GM's game then. Just be aware that many GM's have tweaks and such for their games so what you are creating might not be allowed in their game. Just getting familar with roll20 and creating a character is always a good thing to do.
Hey there as stated already you can create your own game and export/import characters for ease, but yes this does somewhat require you to know the sheet they will be using (some sheets convert information so you may be ok even if its a different sheet) and that the game creator has turned on importing, if they haven't you'll either have to go through and input all the info into a blank sheet in their game or ask them to turn it on so you can import it (I've never had a GM refuse this so imagine your chances are good). Beyond these options there are services like Myth-weavers.com that will allow you to create and save sheets that can be publicly accessed by a link provided. then you can freely share your sheet with the GM before even having access to their game and discuss ideas, then its just a case of transferring the info into roll20 once your able too. hope this helps, welcome to roll20, best of luck finding a game!
