Looking for RP heavy group

This is a long shot, but I'm looking for a group who encourages and emphasizes in-character roleplay. Accents aren't required, though they're a plus. I see a lot of DMs, players, or campaigns that advertise themselves as 'roleplay heavy' but I have come to understand that the standard for being RP heavy is quite low. I'm looking to play with people who have a passion for character acting, who really fully and completely immerse themselves in the character they're playing. Simply put, when I speak to your character, I want to feel like I'm talking to a unique character - not Jacob from accounting who is playing a character. I have joined a lot of campaigns in the hope of finding a group like this, and I've left just as many games because I was disappointed with the quality of RP. I'm starting to feel bad about joining and leaving games so often, so maybe this will reach someone who is like-minded. If you're not DMing and are a player who feels the same as me, feel free to PM. I might start DMing a heavy RP take on a west marches style of campaign soon and will be needing a lot of solid roleplayers, and it helps to make friends with good RPers just in general for any potential future games. Though right now I've got my fingers crossed that there's a DM that might want me. Feel free to hit me up here or on discord - YOGZULA#9184 i prefer playing 5e, but i'm open to any system as long as the rp is good. EST time zone and i'm available Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after 6 PM through 3 AM.

You should put your time zone in your profile and post. It helps GMs and players choose you.
You might consider focusing your search on non-D&D games. D&D's roots are as a tactical combat game and that focus continues to be present and the reward structure - xp and gold for killing - demonstrates that and encourages players to perform those actions. That's all well-and-good for a lot of people, but others, like yourself, may want a different focus. There are other rulesets which emphasize other aspects of play and they don't bring with them the same expectation of orc-smashing as the goal of the game. For example, Burning Wheel's reward structure gives a player nothing for fighting and killing; the way to get xp is to act-out your character's personality traits or beliefs in play. This encourages a very different kind of game. There is even a per-session reward for the PC who acted out their character's conditions (e.g. sick so sniffling and coughing all session), used accents, etc. best. From what you're saying, this might appeal to you.
To be fair, in almost all of the campaigns i join anymore, it seems like most DMs prefer to use milestone XP. Actually, only my first game ever of DnD awarded XP the classic way for killing monsters and I didn't much like it. To me it seems like 5e is heavily adaptable and if you want it to be roleplay focused, there's nothing stopping it from being as such. I don't mind the combat, either. I like it, even. I just want the roleplay to be solid when there is roleplay, that's all. Plus, not only am i familiar with the setting and rules of 5e and not only does it keep getting published content to expand on it, but it's also way easier to find people to play it with. Though like I said, i'm open to any system.
I’m interested in this type of group too! Following this thread. Please keep me in mind if a group forms out of this, and would be willing to talk more.
I think this will be up your street. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/62206/the-gods-... In this game the kind of role playing you are after is a given and while accents are not mandatory I do like to insist that if you can you do use one. The one thing is the game is far from 5e but honestly in my opinion for the RP you are looking for with the 5e system it is like looking for half a needle in a haystack the size of Alaska.
I am in a pretty heavy RP group. My brother is running a mage campaign and we are looking for a fifth. It is a home brew system, but works well within role twenty. WE build into the world as players as well. I have designed the hierarchy for the society of either in his world for instance. If you write a story or journal, he will use it. Its all about about the plot twists and cliff hangers. There is combat, but we do have sessions that are all roleplay at times. send me an E-mail if you are interested. I can be reached at geekwinter10@gmail.com.
