I'm an experienced player and DM of many systems and I am curious to try out some delicious Science-Fantasy RPG action with the new Paizo RPG, Starfinder. I'm tweaking the setting quite a bit, but all the core rules and races and all that remain mostly unchanged except for "Fluff". For example... there's no Golarian (although, some would say there's no Golarian in Starfinder, either) - instead we'll be using Earth as the homeworld for humans - and instead of a singular chock-full solar system of Pact Worlds.... there's a small corner of the Milky Way galaxy that's been claimed by The Core Alliance (ie - all the Pact World races inhabit this small chunk). The focus of the game will be on the PC's as they join the Starfinder Society - an organization created to explore the dark reaches of space known as "The Vast". I'm a Trekkie as much as I am a Star Wars fan... and I'd like to have my cake and eat it, too. My plan is for most of the time to have the PCs ranging far and wide, having encounters on uncharted worlds and making first contact with potential races to join the Core Alliance. As for my personal style, I'm more keen on "Theatre of the Mind" style of play than big elaborate maps - though we might crack out some hexes for space combat, just to see how it flows. I prefer narration - from players and myself - over just comparing numbers... And I love letting people roll dice. If this has your interest, give me a shout out and we'll start working towards making space great again!
