Coriolis – The Third Horizon is a role-playing game set in space. There are ships, space stations and starry vistas, just like in any other space-themed RPG. What separates Coriolis from other sci-fi RPGs is first and foremost the social environment, which in Coriolis is strongly inspired by the Middle East. Food, music and fashion, as well as religion, philosophy and literature. Most importantly, myths and folk tales from the Middle East deeply entwine with the spirit of the game world. The Third Horizon is a world where ancient myth meets high technology. Other themes that are most prevalent in Coriolis - the Third Horizon include; Arabian Nights - In Space, The Old Versus the New, Mysticism and Icon Worship, and ultimately, the Darkness Between the Stars... GAME TIME: Session 0: Nov. 8, 7pm EST Session 1: Nov. 15, 7pm EST Game start time may be brought down as early as 5pm EST, depending on player schedule. GAME LENGTH: 6-8 Weekly Sessions in total, lasting no more than 4 hours each. New players are welcome, the system is easy to pickup and will be discussed in a short Session 0 then briefly again before the first session. Game Aids will be provided during Session 0 and during game play via Roll20. In them you will find all references needed to get immersed in the setting, learn the rule system and play the game. x11 Premade characters are available for selection, though character creation is quick and easy to set up for those who would like to come in with their own. The game will be ran with a focus on a collaborative story telling style; though a plethora of music, images and battle grids will also be available and used during play.
