Word of Warning: I've seen a ton of threads going into whether the GM should be able to fake roll outcomes or not and it has been made clear that compromising the believability of the RNG is not part of the devs' intention. Regardless of how you might feel about this (I don't necessarily agree myself), it's not part of this discussion. Run your game the way you want, I run mine the way I want. Please read the actual question first BEFORE responding. Thank you! I am aware that, for various reasons, modifying dice rolls is not an option right now. However, I am currently running a campaign that veers strongly into "mindscrew" territory in that weird events, including those leaking into non-narrative sections of the game, are a pretty common theme. It is also a VERY storytelling-heavy, gameplay-light campaign (as opposed to more "tournament" or "wargame" like campaigns), so "fairness" in gameplay terms doesn't really factor into either the system or the campaign. One idea I had is to actually modify the dice. This is something that wouldn't be possible outside of Roll20, but could be a pretty neat little thing around here. However, given the fact that there is no faking dice rolls, I am not sure what to make of it. I could use in-line images of the rolled dice to fake a certain roll, for example, but that might be rather obvious. Is there another way to replicate the appearance of a "legit" roll but with user-set results? I'm not looking for the perfect deception, merely for something that looks like the real deal at first glance.
