Hi, Background/Experience Recently a group of IRL friends and I decided to to give RPGing a try. We're all into video game RPGs as well as Magic: The Gathering, so have obviously heard of Dungeons and Dragons, so that was the logical place to begin. With nobody wanting the extra responsibility of being DM, it ended up being me. We got the Lost Mine of Phandelver set had a session in person. Unfortunately, it didn't stick for 2 of the 5 players and one of the players availability at weekends changed so the game stalled for a while. We finally discovered Roll20, got a new player and got started using this. Have to say, the group (including myself) are loving what Roll20 can do for us. So far we've played a 3 sessions, one in person and 2 using roll20. We have already made some very memorable moments. While DMing is rewarding, I do feel that I'm missing out a bit by not being an actual player. Since getting started, I've obviously come across Pathfinder. I'm still reading up on it, but have to say that I'm also very intrigued by this. When playing RPG video games, I've always found myself drawn to games with a high complexity/customisability to them. I'm still at the very very early stages of learning but given I've technically not played DnD either - I'm not too invested in it that I'd discount wanting to try an alternative. TL:DR - I've played a grand total of 3 sessions of DnD 5e as DM and none as a player - never played Pathfinder. What I want I'd like to join a group who are would be willing to accept a complete beginner into their ranks. Ideally a group who are willing to teach as my noobness may result in questions that could slow the pace of gaming initially. I'm more focused on the story of a game than I would be a power gamer or kill things get loot style. I've never actually role played before and want to be able to try in a comfortable and accepting setting. Even as a DM with my IRL friends, they're interested in the story, but not so much RP, so it's not the best setting for that. So a group that would be accepting of someone who wants to but can't RP would be good...or a group where it's not required but also not scorned. I'm getting close to 40, so a mature group would also be appreciated. Availability Based in the UK. Most week nights from 4PM - 10PM (perhaps 11PM). Most weekends from 12PM onwards. I do have other commitments, so availability can fluctuate, but I generally know this in advance so can give warning if it would affect with any scheduled gaming. So if you have an opening in your group and think I could be the missing player, get in touch. I'm happy to speak with people before hand to let you decide if I'm a good fit.
