Pathfinder group of 3 seeks 1-2 addition players. New Campaign.

Our group consists of 1 veteran player, 1 intermediate player, and a veteran GM. We have another intermediate player who will join us in April. This is a new Pathfinder campaign. Our GM is new to Pathfinder but has played/GM'd every edition prior. We are all working professionals in our 30's, casual gamers that are committed to playing but we do have lives outside of this hobby. We are looking for 1-2 committed players. Personality is probably more important than your level of experience.   Details: Launch date is Feb 21 Once per week on Wednesday or Thursday evenings, sometimes Sunday with notice. 7:00pm to 12:00am central time(with some flexibility expected). One of our players is in New Zealand. We don't care what time zone you are in as long as you can make the games. Pathfinder with the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting House rules are being discussed (GM has the final ruling) MythWeaver character sheets Mumble voice chat (NO video) Current characters are Bard, Full caster (specific undecided), and a Barbarian (joining us in April). The type of character you choose is less important than your affinity for the class and your commitment to play. The campaign will be freeform with a variety of locations, rewards, and encounters. General questions here or feel free to send me a PM.
I'd fit right into that, but can't make those days.  Are you flexible on day/time?
I'm also definitely interested, and the times Wed/Sun work for me, but atm have a game running Thursday nights. Lately we've been having to move it to Saturday, so if that becomes the norm by then, everything would be peachy.
There could be some flexibility with start and finish time. Our main objective is to play a minimum of 2-3 hours, once per week. We have played before with long lay-offs and the disconnect takes away from the fun and momentum of the campaign. Concerning days, Monday is a possibility, Tuesday is out (no flexibility there) and weekends are typically spent with friends and/or family.
Just sent ya a PM with some more details. Mondays would work for me as well.
Do you have space still? I have totally open availability.
I'd be very interested in playing Mondays.
No slots have been filled at this moment. I've had some good exchanges with players who've shown interest in the campaign.
I am interested. Similar stats to poster-especially agree on no video. Privacy is important. I am uk based . I definately cannot do Sunday evenings tho.
I'd be able to handle the days available and i'm very familiar with the forgotten realms setting, and pathfinder.  I'm not a rules nazi, and am just around to have fun and will play a character to round out the group(looks like you guys currently need a rogue or cleric style).   Either way, i'm totally interested and those time slots work well for me(I'm in EST and work a 9-5)
Hey guys, I'm one of the players in the group. For anyone who's interested in joining, could you tell us a bit about yourself? We're mostly concerned with availability and personality, so it'd really help out if we get a sense of who you are.  As mentioned before, the group currently consists of people in their 30s, and we're all working professionals. We play for the camaraderie and to make time for friends. We're not LARPers, we don't dress up as our characters, and we don't talk in dwarven voices when playing. Nothing wrong with it if that's your thing, it's just not us. Multiple games per week is probably unlikely, as there will probably be too many schedule conflicts with everyone's jobs and extracurricular activities. We all love the game, but we're believers of "everything in moderation". It sucks waiting for that next session, but hopefully that makes things more enjoyable during actual game time. A bit more regarding the party makeup: my bard will focus on buffing, so all damage dealers will be happy. He's also an archer to help out in the damage department. He'll also have the usual bardic knacks to help out in all sorts of areas (knowledge, skills, social encounters, etc.) The wizard is a divination wizard focusing on battlefield control to hamper the enemies and enabling our attackers to do their thing. The barbarian will smash faces. The class you play isn't important at all to us, but we could totally use a full divine caster or another damage dealer. The most important thing is that you have fun with your character though, since that'll help everyone get along. Lastly, the campaign starts at level 2 (that's the plan for now anyway).  EDIT: As someone noted, sorry for the "job interview" vibe here.
For me similar profile, but a bit older, UK based. I'm a 'born again rp er ' really- left off for 10 years ago and when I decided to take it up again found living in an isolated village didn't make that too easy. Hence the internet. I do travel to a distant club now to GM occasionally, but my my only regular game is our sunday evening (Gametable/ Obsidian Portal ) 'Mustered Out on Mertactor' traveller game, interspersed with my 'Journey to the East' (Pathfinder/ jade regent)  when our Traveller GM fancies a break. I would actually like to play Pathfinder however.... My Inquisitor will pick a suitably Grim FR Diety (will need to wiki that) and probably dual to Ranger vs. Undead  for 1 or 2 levels. Essentially an Undead Hunter. Spells initially probably CLW and Bless water. I recently ran 'Haunting of Harrowstone' over about a dozen sessions and the group had no cleric. In such an undead intensive scenario I realised that actually made the game much better: the characters actually were in mortal danger most of the time, and genuinely pulled through on working out the problems and thinking about the resources they had: channel vs,. undead removes a lot of the danger/ challenge in those sorts of scenarios. Just one opinion of course.
Wow, this sounds like a job interview lol.  I play Pathfinder a few times per week, would like to join another on Monday nights if you guys are willing.  I fit the same demographic as you do, been playing tabletop since the days of AD&D 2nd Edition.  I mostly play for the story, and enjoy roleplaying my characters and discovering who they are within the storyline and their destinies, etc.  I typically gravitate towards martial "damage dealer" classes, in both play style, and roleplaying personalities.  My current characters in play are Barbarian & Ranger, and I play a tank-optimized fighter for Pathfinder Society games.  I've also had fun roleplaying rogue type classes.  I suppose I could play just about anything, but that conversation would take place after the game time and players are decided upon.
Yeah, sorry for the "job interview" vibe. Really, we just don't wanna get creeped out by whoever joins us. I imagine that if you've been gaming for a while, you've had a few similar encounters in your gaming history, and you know exactly what I'm talking about.
I'm mid twenties, but I work the 9-5 as I said.  Tabletopping is just something i've always enjoyed and being able to open up the avenues of having it online make it a lot simpler.  I generally try to gear my actions towards my group's, I have dressed up and spoken with accents and the whole shebang, but it isn't something I require or need.  As you said, one of my main reasons for playing is the social aspect and the camaraderie.
Look like Kelimvor is the Diety for me- seems to fit. An agent of the Church but not a pure Cleric. Is it points buy-15? 20? 25?
Not a job interview. I chose the last two players to round out our previous campaign and both turned out to be trolls—not into gaming—just bored, sad, people who wanted to make fools of themselves.
Hey Riki, I've had a few PMs with Dyermaker but I'm also in the same demographic. I'm 27, Full-time M-F professional on the east coast, with about 5 years of various editions 3.5 onward experience. I've been playing with the same group of people, give or take a few changing out as the time went on. We've gone from managing a full on 8 player party and back to a more moderate 4-5 but never really had less than that (except for games run online) I'm used to a comfortable setting with a regular group of peeps where it is just as much about the friendship and social experience as how your characters might be interacting. I've had my friends mostly DM in their own worlds, as well as some Planescape settings (super fun, and our current homebrew roll20 game setting) and a little bit of FR in early 4E days. My in-person group doesn't meet anymore as people have had to move away for grad school or new jobs, but those of us that can still get together for the online game. One time, when we did our premier Pathfinder test run game, I had a bone oracle who I did a voice for (a bit like Miss Cleo. It was a riot.) Otherwise, I don't really do that. :)
The easiest way to get an idea of my game style type is to look at the game logs from the two Pathfinder games I run. Both are on Obsidian Portal- 'Shadows over Ustalav' (face to face) and 'Journey to the East' (virtual). I suppose I tend to GM in the style I prefer to play.
I'm in my mid twenties and I've played (mostly due to being foreverDM) an exorbitant number of systems over the years. I've played a load of AD&D, 3.5 (more Eberron and Greyhawk than FR, but I'm familiar) and Pathfinder. I'm not a rules nazi or a munchkin and I try not to be a dick to other players. I do make use of an "In-Character" voice sometimes, probably from years of being an entire supporting cast, but it's pretty mild and I'm not a jerk if you metagame. Generally speaking I'm pretty laid back about most things and just want to take part in a good story and have fun. As an observance: is it just me or is everyone on this site either a noob or a GM who's tired of running games?
I am a GM yes- I like being a GM and am not tired of running games. I just like to play them as well, and don't get much opportunity.
Riki . said: Yeah, sorry for the "job interview" vibe. Really, we just don't wanna get creeped out by whoever joins us. I imagine that if you've been gaming for a while, you've had a few similar encounters in your gaming history, and you know exactly what I'm talking about. You mean you don't want someone that gets mad when you won't let his Necro describe in detail what he's doing to the bodies in his off time? Yea I might have a idea or two. I would be interested in this as well. I'm just getting back into gaming after stopping for a few years but can't really find a lot of games in my area. The pathfinder setting is right up my alley. I'm building a Inquisitor Using Guns in place of bows via Ult Combat With some Utility Spells on the side. I'm really going more for a Monster Hunter vibe and not the religious Crusader type.
LOL @ the Necro reference.  :)  We had a guy like that in our group once, he was voted out after the first session haha.
If you're flexible with your schedule, you'll probably be getting a PM from dyermaker or myself. Unfortunately we can't bring along someone who's only available for a specific day, because our jobs/family/life will dictate when we can play. And lol @ the necromancer comment. Woke up at 5am, and that was the first thing I read with my coffee.
Rofl I'm glad you guys are amused. Yea, he was the only person I ever played a game with that made me feel like I was going to get Serial killed at any moment. My Schedule is wide open atm. I work from home and it makes it very flexible for me.
So basically it's either Wednesday or Thursday firm?
As I say, really only Sunday pm (GMT) I can't make. You have more than 2 expressing interest I guess so some of us are going to be disappointed.
Despite the interest already shown, I feel like throwing my hat into the ring! I'm an actress in my mid twenties currently living in Melbourne, Australia - timezones aren't terribly much of a problem with me. My work is erratic and so are my shifts, but I have long stretches of 'downtime' to take advantage of, and I'm fairly certain I'd be able to mesh well with any given dates & times during the week. I'm in the game more for interaction (in-character or otherwise) than combat, but I do love rolling me some attack rolls, so I'll definitely be performing in that area when needed. I prefer to match the party's pace in terms of build and power. I typically gravitate towards 'clever/tricky' martial fighters (Rogue/Fighters of many different breeds), but I'm fully well willing to give the notion of a divine caster a shot, likely an Oracle - it depends! I wouldn't be entirely opposed to making another swashbuckl-y gal, but I'm able to have fun while fulfilling the needs of the party. The session length & frequency sounds perfect, and I'm willing to put in sacrifices to ensure a time/date is kept for a game when it's made in advance, as I'm personally tired of dealing with flaky players. I play on a number of play-by-post games, though I'm rather accustomed to having "Live Talk" sessions, as I run a tabletop group weekly, alternating between Pathfinder and Iron Kingdoms week to week for some variety. However, nowadays, I really just want to play some Pathfinder instead of DMing it.  I admit my experience with the Forgotten Realms is a bit limited at the moment (just a setting I've never played in), but given the timeframe you're planning to start within, I'm pretty content to do my own research into the necessary areas if lore & in-world knowledge is going to be a concern.  As for voices, I do tend to put on slight affectations for certain characters, but I highly doubt you'd find it noticeable. Hoping to hear from you!
We're trying to finalize this tonight, so you'll hear something from us. We'll definitely be picking 2 (as opposed to just one).
I would be interested. I am in Japan. I believe I could make the games. Sometimes my times do shift but I will try to make them
Hey guys, we've sent out PMs to the 2 players. It came down simply to availability, and we picked the ones whose schedules most fit ours. So, at least no one was creepy! Good luck all.
May still be looking for a divine caster or a non-barbarian, martial character...
How about a paladin?
Hey is  there still time to join?!
I haven't completed my application so... might as well. I'm in my late twenties, 29yo to be exact, and i have been playing RPGs for 20 years now, i started with D&D. I live in Brazil, where i work, (worked) as an english teacher (between jobs atm). I like long walks on the beach (if its not crowded and not too hot, in fact i don't really like the beach so much but thats cool cuz i live inland), and i think of myself a hardcore player, though i don't see why that would be a bad thing. As a DM i am a rules nazi, as a player i do my best to play within them and offer legal advice whenever it would be helpful, trusting the DM to do with them as he wishes. When i run a game i usually do voices for NPCs, but when i play i don't because it sounds that im trying too hard. I see myself as a balanced mix of Roleplayer and Powergamer, i like my characters strong as long as it makes sense. I am familiar with a huge number of systems, and settings, and that includes Faerun.
I'm interested if you want another player.
