It's a homebrew setting. I should have added that. Haha. Basic background: You were incarcerated (either as individuals, or as group, or any combination there of - just depends on your character really. You can come up with your own reasons for being thrown in the dungeon, or I will flavor them, it all depends on your preference.) you were all released into the Parole "district" of the city Kraestenolm on the same day and you will begin in a makeshift processing center as you are integrated to parole. The officer releasing you has a task for a bounty, usually such tasks are reserved for good behavior, but desperate times and all that. The Parole "District" is a set of alleyways that have been isolated from the rest of the city to integrate less dangerous/time served criminals back into civilization. Effectively it's just a slum, and it is common rumor that one of the cities most prominent cartels, the red banners, have a subsect of their organization in the district. I do need you guys to inform me if you plan on having a reason why you are incarcerated. if you don't have any plans pleas let me know ahead of time. : About Kraestenolm: It is a large city seperated by districts; the royal district, the temple quarter, the mountain heights, the harbor district, Resedential, and parole. Royal District: Is essentially the upper class residential district. homes here are made of stone mostly. the castle is not located here. : Temple Quarter: Obviously, this is where various religeons practice, Palor and Bahamut are the most prominent practices here, though pretty much all gods are open to be worshipped (some lack a proper church). : mountain heights: the most frigid and harsh part of Kraestenolm. This is where most dwarves and other various races live (that are willing to tough the cold), mostly the working class live here, mining and blacksmithing is the largest proffession seen here. Warm clothing a must. At the peak of the mountain heights (not the actual peak of the mountain mind you) lies the Kraestenolm Keep, partially outside of the mountain the majority of the keep is chiseled into the mountainside itself. this stronghold has never successfully been taken. Harbor: Won't state obvious, but this is also the suspected home of the Red Banner Tribe. The temperatures here are a stark contrast to the mountain, the weather down low is almost tropical in nature. Residential: Obvious is obvious! Other than that, there is a forest theme set here as well as one of the cities most recognized parks, Houses here are all made of wood. Parole: set of slummy alleyways that border the city dungeons. : Old District: A district no longer considered part of the city, it borders the dungeon and parole district. (The parole district is made up of bits of the old quarter, anytime the city needs to expand upon the parole district's size they go in and secure more of the old district.) The old district is considered cursed, undead have been reported, mostly shambling husks, though many paranoid swear there are worse things out there. Generally the city is unworried about the undead and are unwilling to purge them out of respect for the fallen.
