Hey everyone, I run a game of 5th edition D&D in a homebrew setting. Recently our bard had to quit due to personal circumstances which left the party with 3rd level Paladin, Warcleric and a monk. Therefore, I would like to invite two new players to join us. Your Profile: Please be 18, my games tend to have mature language and content Newbie or Veteran, I dont care You dont have to be a native speaker but your English should be sufficient enough to have a normal conversation. female players are not only welcomed but I actually enjoyed running
games with at least 1-2 women so far since I feel like it often adds
some new perspective. So please talk to me if youd like to join. Please be a nice human being, the game should be fun for everyone at the table Be able to commit to a weekly session. A couple of things you should probably know before you think about joining. This
is not a sandbox game. While players backstories and action obviously
affect what happens, the greater story is already in my mind and certain
events will happen. There will be a summary of what happened so far at the end of the post I am German and so is my native language but since I lived, studied and worked in the UK my English should be quite fine We have a working Discord setup with text and voice chat, so please have some sort of half decent microphone for voice chat. Yes, I do watch AI, RollPlay and Critical Role, and
no I dont worship Mercer as a God. While he is a very good GM, I
sometimes disagree with what he does and my style is different since I
ie suck at doing voices and dont act out NPC behaviour. So please dont be like "but Matt did it this way in episode XX" About character creation and such The world is called Tyraria and its a continent surrounded by water and is mostly populated by Humans, Elves, Gnomes, Halflings and Dwarfes.
That doesnt mean the other races are banned but are considered exotic at
least with upsides and downsides that come along with that. You can
play any class from corebooks, while classes or subclasses from other
book require approval. No gunslingers. Generally, I would ask you not try to get UA or homebrew
content into the game, if you really feel like thats for your character
we can talk about it. Also handle feats with care since I like to hand
them out as rewards but at the same time I dont want characters to end
up with like 7 feats and if I would reward you with a feat but youve
already taken it there wont be any substitute reward. PCs die in my games. To reflect that, I have my players do backup characters. The Monk and the Cleric both are 2nd generation PCs. That doesnt mean they die easily but if you make stupid decision I wont save you as the DM. So now that the boring stuff is out of the way let me tell you a bit about what has transpired so far The party met while traveling to a city called Oakenside and decided it would be wise to group up. After arriving there, they introduced themselves to a bunch of people and made friends only to clash with a criminal organisation lead by someone called The Razor. Overestimating themselves they decided to take up the fight and assault his second-in-command only to be easily defeated and taken in front of the Razor. They were set free without any coin and most of their equipment to assassinate two people for him as payment for their freedom. Back in the city they devised a plan to get out of their predicament and in the process caught and tortured to death a young woman called Julia who apparently was spying on them. They then ambushed the second-in-command once more, and due to better preparation they barely came out victorious this time. They then left the city to find the Razor's hideout to burn it to the ground but realised that they were seriously lacking information. Trying to obtain that from a nearbly impoverished noble family somehow led to our adventurers taking the nobles hostage in their own house and threathening them. The city guards were alarmed and half the party was captured and imprisoned. They were convicted and sentenced to death not only for their actions against the nobles but also for their involvement in the dissappearence of the young and well respected woman Julia. However, thanks to the influence of a friend, a chance to redeem themselves was offered, the so called Court of Appeals. They had to make up with the noble family, gain approval by the royal family to hold this special court and convince a majority of the guildmasters, who were to be judges in this court, to vote in their favour. Long story short they managed to do this, some easier than others and their freedom was granted by the Court of Appeals. And this is where we are at the moment. As last remarks, please apply here and not per pm as my players will read and maybe comment here as well and their opinons will matter on who I am going to invite. So please tell us a bit about yourself and the race/class you would be interested in playing as you have to convince them as much as you have to convince me. Also if I have to add anything or change something because its unclear i will edit in italics ( maybe colour as well, if i can figure it out)
