Choppy Visuals + Computer Heats Up Fast

It takes me 20 sec to load into my game and when I scroll around on the map its very choppy to the point where it feels like it just jumps around. The tokens are also the same. Additionally my computer frequently will heat up and have the fans turn on rather quickly, I can usually watch livestreams and not have it overheat. Its been an off and on problem for most of the time I've been running the game. I disabled my Chrome Extensions, I have ethernet plugged in, my girlfriend can run the game smoothly and without her computer heating up (I havent tried logging into my account on her computer). I tried Firefox last week but it was more choppy than Chrome then but this week Chrome is more choppy but Firefox is still as choppy as before. The game has been going on for nearly 11 months now and so I cleared the chat archive and removed archived maps. I read that removing unused characters can also help speed up the game but I cant imagine that would be the cause of this frequent inconsistent performance. I created a new blank game and still have the lag when moving around then empty map. Everything except CheckerImaging is accelerated on my chrome://gpu/
DungeonMasterLordofDungeon D. said: Everything except CheckerImaging is accelerated on my chrome://gpu/  Here are some things to try: Clearing browser cache (or try Chrome's Incognito mode) Toggling off acceleration Temporarily disabling anti-virus programs If none of the above helps, please work through Step 4 of our guide to Solving Technical Issues .
Aside from the initial 20 sec load in time (which isnt a big deal to me), it seams that turning off the acceleration did the job, but why is that? I thought it was suppose to improve things and in many other forums with similar issues having it turned off was the reason their game was slower. Thank you for the help!
Great! I can't say precisely why toggling off acceleration helped in this case, but I can say that many users in similar situations have found toggling acceleration (on or off) helpful. I'll mark this as resolved; feel free to open a new thread if you experience any other issues.
