Inviting players

Is there another way to invite players besides getting the player to post in your LFG listing (so that the "Invite to Campaign" link shows up) and email?

You can the direct link to a campaign by launching it and going to your chat panel. You'll have to mouse over the green text in the chatlog to copy and paste your unique join link. Paste this link into a friend's email, Roll20 private message or through IM. You can also email an invite by going to the campaign's details page and click on "Invite Players". Incidentally that's also where you can grab the unique link to your campaign too.
Ah ok thank you very much. I forgot about the "unique link" thing. That seems sort of dangerous though, doesn't it? I was hoping there was away to invite a Roll 20 user, like by user # or something! The method I have been using (telling the prospective member to post in the LFG listing) works and I will stick with that then :)

It's only dangerous if you post it in public, really, or if a player goes rogue. Even if you do get unwanted players in one of your games, you can always kick them from the campaign and (unless that's changed) it should change the join link for the campaign.
Oh I didnt know about changing the join link in such a case. Nice!

One thing you could do after inviting people, is set up an alternate account, send yourself an invite, join with that account and then get back to your GM account and kick yourself from the campaign. This will change the join link for the campaign, but anyone who has already joined will still have your campaign in the "campaigns Joined" part of their profile. A little laborious, but workable. I have a second account I use for testing what players see in my campaigns (in a different browser, so dont have to worry about logging in and out). This method is easy and quick once you already have a second account set up.
