[M&M 3e][LFGM/P][EST]Looking for a GM and another player for a narrative-driven, RP-heavy Game

Hello folks! I've been doing some thinking and due to shifting around in my schedules/the opening up of several time slots in my schedule, I'd like to look for one more game. I have a few nights open through the week, and more nights open if the game were played on a biweekly basis. That said, let me get in to what I'm looking for specifically before I start throwing dates and times around: I'm looking for a Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition game. I cannot stress how much I love this system; it's extremely flexible and I've seen it work for a number of settings/themes and characters. The idea of being able to make exactly the character in my head without being restricted by set class archetypes and such is amazing, and the fact that unlike games like City of Mists (which is an amazing setting with, in my opinion, a lack-luster system), there are actual numbers involved in character creation so there are "measuring sticks" to figure out relative strength and such makes me very appreciative of the system itself. I would like the game to be very small, as in there are two players (one of which would be myself) and one GM. I feel like in something RP Heavy and narrative driven, the fewer players, the better. I've seen RP heavy games work well with larger groups, but a smaller group almost always seems to go better and allows for more adaptability and less tug-of-war over what direction things will go in even if characters have very different agendas. This would be my first duo game, but I find the idea intensely appealing, due to the likelihood that players can bounce role play off of each other rather than inundating the GM constantly like what happens in a solo, or having their RP attempts get lost/ignored like what happens so often in bigger groups. For setting and theme, I'm looking at a modern time frame, but am very open on the scope of the game. We could play smaller, street-level heroes ala Daredevil and Jessica Jones, or we could step up to X-Men or something similar. I'd like to avoid going too over the top with them starting out at an Avengers-level of world protecting, primarily because the big shiny heroes are always more fun as NPCs, in my opinion. Give me the nitty gritty of normal people who just got blessed/cursed with a gift and now have to figure out how to live with it over spandex and capes and alien invasions any day. To Summarize: Looking for: 1 GM + 1 Player System: M&M 3E Timezone: EST Days: Thursday, Friday, Sunday (weekly) Monday (biweekly) Time: Evenings (6-8 PM start time) Setting: Modern day feel, open beyond that Game Style: RP Heavy, Narrative-Driven. IE ROLE-play, rather than roll-play.
I might be interested. Bloodied and I play together in another game and she linked me this. It would be fun to vary things up a little. If it works I can be available on the days she listed.

If you're interested in the super powered side of things I'm trying to get another Mutants and Masterminds campaign going. I was actually opening it to 5 players, just because there are always drops and no shows. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5759151/interest... https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/94929/mutants-and-masterminds-the-new-normal

Thinking about it, if you really want the two person thing, and have another player interested, I probably could mirror this on Sunday evenings weekly. Obviously each would spin in its own direction but since I have a pretty clear idea of the world I want to create I think it would be doable. let me know if that's your preference and I can create another game room. Also, on the chance the you're a fan of George RR Martin's Wild Cards series, I would absolutely run a game set in that world using M and M.
Nymie and I have talked and we're definitely interested, but we'd like to know more about what you're planning to do with the game? What kind of plot are we looking at? All the game page says is a socio-political backdrop and drama. Also, neither of us have read Wild Cards but after looking a synopsis of the type of world it is, we might be interested as long as you don't require a lot knowledge on the setting.
Hi. Really, I'm fairly open about the direction plot takes, it would mostly revolve around how you as players reacted to your situation. There are a number of things that are definitely going to happen: People all over the world start to get super powers, world governments start to react in different ways. There would be certain timed events that would take place, unless your characters get involved and change them somehow. There would definitely be a pretty obvious plot line to follow if you want to get involved directly with how the US government reacted to what happened, but it would also be possible for your characters to stay out of that and get involved in more local or personal matters and take things in a different direction. I tend to just set up the story hooks and then improvise the plot as a reaction to the decisions that the player makes rather than have the players railroaded down a path where there is only one option for them to take. I just threw the Wildcards thing out there as an option on the off chance that it was something you were familiar with, but it would probably take too much world knowledge to RP your characters if you haven't read the books. Let me know if this answers your questions.
Hey Jack! Nymie and I talked and we'd love to talk with you at some point when you have time to see if we'd work well together. I'm going to message you our contact info later tonight when I'm home. :)
