[D&D 5E] New to Roll20 and LFG to cut my teeth on

Hello there! I am a fairly experienced D&D player having started playing back in the day with AD&D 2E. I've played off and on since then mostly in real life tabletop groups when finding players is possible. Recently I discovered Roll20 and would love to find a group to play with. I have played the newest 5E off and on and am familiar with the newest content. I would like to find a free to play game in the Forgotten Realms or Ravenloft campaign setting to enjoy as these are my favorite settings. I'm not big on home-brew worlds as they don't tend to be as fleshed out or as versatile as the published settings. I would really like to try some of the published adventures like Tyranny of Dragons, Out of the Abyss, or Curse of Strahd. I enjoy a well mixed game of exploration, role-play and combat. I like getting into character and bringing them to life.  I am available Monday thru Thursday evenings after 5pm Arizona [MST] time or Saturday mornings or early afternoons. Classes I prefer to play are casters such as Wizards/Sorcerers and Clerics or occasionally I enjoy playing Rogues. Thanks and happy gaming!
Hi there! I was thinking of running a group through some 5th edition material, maybe The Yawning Portal (a collection of "best of" adventures adapted for 5th edition, which has some nice roll20 addons I just picked up), or Out of the Abyss. I'm actually programming an RPG in Unreal Engine and I'd like to play a caster-heavy group to see what sort of imaginative gameplay inspires me while I stretch out my storytelling muscles. I'm also a distributed writer/director/producer, and my second film is getting off the ground! Check out "Engrams" on Amazon Prime to see my first movie :D I'm super familiar with Forgotten Realms, having first read the 2nd edition campaign setting and later having caught up on all the 5th edition goings-on, so you can expect the campaign to be somewhat relevant at least. I'd like to play frequently, perhaps two or three times a week. I've tried running a game on here before, but I accepted too many random different playstyles as players. I did have success with a little free-campaign 5th edition group I ran with several one-shots. It sounds like you're the type of player I'd prefer to game with, tho - creative, literary (I prefer to play text, actually) and still into the combat stuff. I'll post an LFG in the forums myself, and maybe start in the next week or so based on player availability! Let me know if you're interested and I'll send an invite!
