Is there a way to turn off snapping while retaining grid without ALT?

Is there a way to make the default behavior of the table top to NOT snap when there is a grid without using the alt? Thanks

As far as I'm aware, no, there is no other way to turn off snapping without out shutting off the grid other than using alt. However you can right click on a token and set it to "Is Drawing" under the advanced options and it will no longer snap to grid. Be aware that tokens set as such will be removed if you choose to clear drawings from the map, though, and I don't think they get the three bubbles popping up when you select them. You can double click on them to get to their settings, though..
I might try that, thanks! Hopefully they will make snap to grid a map option.
You could also create a transparent grid overlay and turn off the grid/snap to grid.
