In the midst of putting together our circle for our usual Exalted group, we found that we were lacking a dedicated Social-focused character. Despite some shuffling around, no one really had any solid concepts that fit a good social character for our Circle, and the kingdom that they had just created as the backdrop for the game provided ample opportunities for such a character. As a result, we're looking for a single player willing to play a social-focused character (Zenith or Eclipse preferred, over Social Dawn or Night characters, admittedly; additionally, we use Lunar and Dragonblooded homebrew - if you have an acceptable option for these character types, we're certainly willing to hear it). However, we're not looking for players who are looking to steal the spotlight by strong-arming the other players with their abilities, or who are barely functioning sociopaths who are passing as reasonable character. We've had these kinds of characters (and players) before, and they did not last long at our table. As a result, one of the players has offered to run a brief one-shot with applicants to help gauge playstyle (as well as familiarize herself with running Exalted for the future). The only real requirements are to be active with the group, as we are active and discuss the game fairly consistently - someone who participates in the group is far more likely to get along. Additionally, things we are not looking for in our game: a heavy focus on kingdom-building, or political intrigue as a primary goal. These things are fine in smaller amounts - we just have several players with no desire to engage in this sort of play long-term. Or at all, in terms of kingdom-building. They're fine with being folk heroes or notable figures. They don't want to be the leaders, and as a result, don't really need a character with that kind of goal themselves. Finally, the group is currently a mix of male and female players in equal ratio, and everyone involved is LGBTQ+ friendly. We're open to any players, but aren't really looking for someone who is going to be a creep or overtly weird. The game is 18+, primarily because we prefer mature players, not because we're looking to engage in some hot ERP. Additionally, the game is text-based purely in terms of IC, using Roll20's chat feature for all in-character interactions. You still must possess a mic and Discord - as we use Voice for OOC communication and to answer questions/discuss the situation/stunts. Lastly, we also are using a pseudo-rotating Storyteller element. While I run the game for the most part, several players are willing to take on the burden of being Storyteller after a story has finished, to give me a chance to play/take a break. This is largely due to the fact that I almost exclusively ST for our group. You're not forced to participate in this, but players who -are- willing to engage will ultimately be favoured for this if they fit our group dynamic.
