If you don't know what Hero System/ Champions is, just look it up. Google is an amazing tool. If you're a newbie I promise I will walk you through the giant task that is character creation. I have yet to decide for certain on a genre. Me and my players just barely started a super "heroes" game which looks more like a super "people that just want to live their lives but super villains are getting in the way" type game. It would be easiest for us to continue with that, but my players may be willing to change genres.
