Edited 1511958053
Game Description: This an Ultra-Tech Game that focuses on emphasis on player choice and character goals. The game's current focus is on the birth of a new group in the wake of the destruction of the Crimson Wolf. In a sandbox game the players are expected to pursue plots actively rather than wait for the plots to come to them. This game combines several different elements in a Space Opra style. Since it is a home-brew game that has been played for many years it can be described as the love child of 40k, Outlawstar, with the Farscape as the adopted sibling all living in Neighborhood that supported the Brown Coats Rebellion in Fire Fly. With so many elements the feeling and joy of space opera is the experience you will get when joining this game. The game pace pays great deal to attention of details of the ship and all the challenges of hosting it. There are highly climactic adventures, and very detail relationships with NPC Crew and the characters. This game is on going since 2013 and continues too evolving based on the players desires and willingness to achieve. Characters can also improve through study and gain new skills by logging time spent working on them in between time jumps. Story Line Description: This is good opportunity for characters start out. With the shift in focus and direction. The group will be rebuilding there crew and recruiting new characters to the fold. Bring your Ideas! Stellar Winds Season 6: The Birth of the Dark Guardians. The destruction of the Crimson Wolf has brought certainty that Cortana, an evil ancient artificial intelligence awoken from a dormant state has been eradicated. After the events of being scattered across a cold world the crew has separated and the elves of Neyaancalacen have rallied behind Earandur in a battle against the nefarious Ork chieftain Gazghoul Shoot'em. GMing Quality is a premium. We use a great deal of graphics / map paks bought from the Roll20 Store to illistrate every leg of the adventure!
Sounds fascinating. Sadly PST GMT-8 here and I'm working round your start time. Please let me know if a later start or if say a weekend slot opens up. Cheers and happy gaming!
Alright Rerednaw. Two spots still open!
I started with this group on day one, I have played Took the whole time. He is an exmilitary special forces sniper, and one of the best pilots you will ever meet. He had a wife traveling with him until recently, she was killed by the A.I., the air in the room was slowly vented out and she suffocated while working at her desk. After going a bit mad and destroying the main engineering computer attmpting to hurt the A.I. He was locked up in a empty room for the night so he could calm down, once the captan confirmed he wasn't crazy he was let out. Shortly after he was released the A.I started openly becoming hostile to the crew, the captan called for an abandon ship and once everyone was clear the mage cast a huge spell destroying the ship and the A.I within. So all at once Took lost his wife and his ship, at least he still has a few friends.
This games killer, Dm cares about epic stories and fun game play, lots of rp, Great maps, npcs, system is great, been playing a mage with this game for a long time and its always what I look forward too in the weak, great times with good people.
Coming from a 5 ed/Pathfinder background, joining this game was a huge hurdle with tons to learn, but they've been a very supportive and fun crew. The universe is huge and constantly changing, making it feel living, with a colorful cast of characters in the main group. The roleplaying is spot on - some of the most screwed up and funny things in my life have came from this campaign. The DM also invests a ton of time making the game high quality with maps, info charts, and full-fledged npcs. Come for the epic space adventure, stay for the progressively darker story line and chill folks!
Thank you for your kind words Faylyn. Still have slots open!
That all sounds very interesting... so are there any particular skill sets the crew would need?
At the moment this is what they have. Took: has Good Pilot Skills, and Good Shooting Skills Earandur: Ritutal Path Magic Mage. Daerandir: Mage / Melee Myuki: Completely Useless in combat, but good Engineering Skills I would think. Combination, of sorts. The group is lacking a Social Skills. They will be likely losing there exceptional melee NPC because of events. We offer templates for you to pick from when you think about characters. It's really up to you. Stealth Skills? If your interested I would say bring your ideas!
Templates We are using: Everyone has to start with the Starter one. That will offer you the minimal skills of a character. Thats 12 points. Then you'll have to decide which species of the Steller Sigma Space your interested in. I usually say humans are the easies since it's homebrew but just think typical dnd races, with few extra races. I can provide you information if your interested. Occupations are right out of Traveller. Occupation Templates: Academician Athlete Attorney Belter Bounty Hunter Bureaucrat Capitalist Colonist Con Man Detective Dilettante Diplomat Doctor Entertainer Explorer Journlist Lawman Mage Marine Merchant Politician Rogue Scientist Soldier Space Knight Space Worker Spell Adept (Lesser Mage) Spy Starship Officer Starship Commander Starsihp Deckhand Starship Engineer Technician
What skills are in the Starter template, and are Bioroids an option? I'm thinking about an Alias-like bioroid operative who is on the run from the corporation that created him / her. That should cover social and stealth skills, maybe I can also put some melee in there.
The starter skills are just a bunch of random skills that normal people would have such as operate computers, first aid, hiking, climbing, diplomacy, fast talk, driving or piloting something, and a gun or melee skill. You don't have to take all of them just gives you some choices. And we have had androids in the past so biodroids are a thing too, just gotta make sure you have enough points to build it. And we will help build it if you need assistance.
Thanks for the offer! I'm pretty familiar with GURPS, so I mostly just need to know which skills are on the list. The points are certainly tight for what I'm trying to build, but I'll see what I can do.
most of us use GCS to build our sheets with, go to classes/Kromm there are 3 lists of skills; every man, adventurer, and action hero. I have all 3 on my sheet but you may only want every man and adventurer, its up to you but these skills help you fit into the setting. Its more for a reminder of newer players not to miss key skills, you may already plan to take all these skills anyway if you know gurps. And the points I agree its a small pool to start with but we all started there.
Yeah, definitely, I'm not complaining. I'll make this work. I'm currently using GCA, because that's what I'm used to, but I'll transfer the sheet to GCS when I'm finished.

Ist it correct that I see "Class Template Blank.gct" when I click on the link?
Gah. Give me few minutes. I was in rush. Wife bugging me.

That looks better, thanks!
You could use the Machine template from basic, if you wanna do robot. We've had people do that in the past in ealier seasons.
I'm thinking more gengineered Bioroid (p. 26 Bio-Tech), so I'd give her Bioroid, Short Lifespan and Self-Destruct. (Finding a way to shut down the self-destruct before it triggers will be a major motivation for the character.) Any suggestions for an Evil Corporation (TM) in your setting that might develop and manufacture those (preferably for nefarious purposes)?
My word is not final, but I bet Mr.Farseer will say Zergal, they are one of the biggest if not the biggest tech company in the core worlds. Took and the original group signed up to do a job with Zergal (this was the first episode) and while on this job we shifted our focus of working for someone to working for our self instead. Once we docked up at Tooks home world they saw Tooks name on paperwork for this crazy alien ship we found and thought it should be their ship instead, Ever since then they have been after Took and the ship.
DM Farseer :) Harald! haha, is she going to be named Portia Lin??? http://darkmatter.wikia.com/wiki/Portia_Lin Zergal is the company to use for our evil corporation. I think you have solid storyline. We just have to make it so magic can't just correct it. So none of the mages can just "Reverse" your troubles.
Harald, You should also contact me on google hangouts at some point today. We game at 6:30PM EST. But i'll be accessable all afternoon from this point on. You can contact me at michaeldincecco@gmail.com
You're definitely thinking in the right direction with Portia Lin... So, Zergal it is! Magic not being able to correct her condition definitely makes sense, someone would probably have to fix her DNA with a nanovirus or something, but that's likely to just kill her unless the person is very skilled and has a good understanding of the technology used to make her in the first place.
Hi, I would like to know if there's any open slot. I have been playing GURPS a long time and I would love to join in a campaign here.
Gus, At the moment, I am in the middle of a move, and with the holidays falling on Mondays. We won't be back to play until some time in Jan. I'll run your request by the group. If you check out our app and fill that out. We'll have some info to discuss.
Hi DM Farseer, Thanks for replying. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Happy holidays!
Happy Holidays Gus! We'll chat soon. Soon as Comcast... gets internet in my place >.>
Any spots open?
