My name is Tim and i'm currently 24 years old. I've been a DM for
about 3000 hours now, playing both IRL and online. Most of my time is spent playing 5e, i have experience in other games as well such as Pathfinder, blades in the dark and other most likely unknown games.
I'm what some people lately has started calling a professional DM
where people pay me to be the DM for them and their groups. The reason for
this is because i offer high quality, effort and experience for my
players. Though with christmas around the corner i thought that i
would run a free adventure for those wanting to play a mini-adventure! Requirements For
the adventure i require that you have previous experience with
5e. The reason is simply that over 3 sessions i don't have the
time to teach someone the basics and nor will it be enjoyable for the
rest of the group. You must be okay with playing a PREMADE
character. Yes a PREMADE character. The reason is that i want
balance in my game, the plan is also that the two groups will be
facing eachother at the third and final sessions, balance key. This also allows me to feed information into the group and characters a different way than i could if you created your own. And of course, this removes any kind of min-maxing and powergaming putting everybody on the same page. You need to be comfortable to roleplay. I think that we are playing a roleplaying game says itself. The adventure itself The thought is that two groups will be playing for the same end goal. These two groups will be kept separate, they will both run into different problems and be forced to take on routes that vary from each other. But as said, the end goal will be the same meaning that sooner or later the groups will face each other. This is to happen on the third and final session. The groups will face both roleplaying and combat difficulties and will have to work together to prevail over them. My world is dark and gritty, i often call it realistic. This means that even in a "one" (three) shot, your actions will have consequences. The game will be homebrew, but i will try and not stray too far away from the regular rules. (My own games are heavily homebrewed) The game will be held over DISCORD. You are required to have a working microphone. I myself will be using a facecam, and it would be nice if you would too, but that is not a requirement. There will be 3 sessions in total The 3 sessions will take 9-12 hours (Most likely it will be 4 hours the first two sessions and 2 hours on the final one) Synopsis In the eastern parts of The Holy Kadian
Empire, a few miles into Elleanore Bay lay Vorovas. Vorovas is an
island, roughly 260 kilomiters long by 150 kilomters wide. Even
though the Island is big and has a habitable terrain there are few
that ever has tried to settle there. Due to the ebb and flow in
Elleanore Bay much of the Island is waterfilled during one half of
the day, and completely impossible to get to during the other half.
Only those who seek to live solitary lives has decided to try and
conqour the wilds of the island. Common habitants are giants, duergar
and svirfneblin but there may also be other humanoids on Vorovas.
Reports states that humans has been spotted, though the circumstances
of where they were spotted were when they were eating other humans.
The Island itself has a lot of history,
many claim that pirates and kings have gathered their treasures there
simply so that it will be hard to reach them. It is even rumoured
that ancient artefacts lay scattered through the deep forests or dark
dungeons. An expeditionary force was sent to Vorovas three
months ago. Two out of the fifteen scouts sent there have been
confirmed to be alive. Both of them reporting the same thing.
At the foot of the most norther
mountain lay a tunnel. The tunnel is created by experts of their
crafts and the details are intricate. The tunnel extends about 100
feet into the mountain before it opens up into a large chasm. There
lay an ancient fort, not too different from the most ancient ones
standing on the main continent of Gael. What killed the scouts, was a
female form dressed in tattered old clothing. She fought like mad,
tearing plate with her teeth and slitting throats with her fingers.
In her hands, a powerful gemstone that the magicians has identified
as ”Grimoire”. Now, with the knowledge of something so powerful
is on the island another force is sent out, one to retrieve the
artefact. Most certainly other kingdoms and mercenary guilds know of this too, which makes speed important. Though, that you succeed is of course more important than speed.
