Hey Y'all- I've been using Roll20 since October of last year and I get the sense that a community is steadily developing and rolling along as the site gains momentum and an active user base. What I'm curious about is who "we" are as a group. So, other GMs tell me a bit about yourselves...I'm particularly interested in the following: 1) How many games are you running on Roll20 right now? Active ongoing games only please. That idea you have about combining Flight of the Intruder with Battletech and adding zombies - great idea, but you aren't running it now. Games on "hiatus" do count, if you'd like. 2) How long have your games been running? Both how many sessions and the elapsed time of the campaign. 3) What system(s) are you using? 4) How did these campaigns materialize? Did you start out in real life and shift over to Roll20; did you find people on other sites who really wanted to run an out of print game and decided to use Roll20; did you meet up here on the LFG forums; did you post your game in the LFG section and people just found you? Etc. 5) How big are your games? Are you looking for more players? 6) Would you rather have a third eye or a tail? My wife got asked this as an icebreaker at a mommy group in the world's most PG-rated version of 'Would you rather?' Feel free to include any other details you'd like. My answers: 1) Two games. One weekly and one every other week. 2) The first has been almost every week since October for 11 sessions. The second around two months and is on its third session. 3) GURPS 4E and Fate Core. 4) I pitched an idea of running a mystery game to a co-worker, but couldn't find anyone else interested until Roll20. The second game was an outgrowth from talking to players in the first game. I used the LFG forum to poach people who can string two sentences together in both cases. I found existing relationships vital to filling out both games. 5) Four players for the first game. Six for the second. Plus me as GM in both cases. I'm not looking for more players currently. 6) Tail. I'd be half-man, half-dog. I'd be my own best friend. More seriously, I'm in my early thirties with a toddler and a job that takes me on the road frequently - Roll20 allowed me to get back into gaming after stopping while in college. Thanks in advance! I realized yesterday it would be possible for me to use this site without directly interacting with another GM and we all could be missing some information that someone else has that could make our games better. Feel free to chip in with your own questions or snippets of advice.
