Animated Tokens?

This might be a stretch, but I found threads from 3-5 years ago going over this topic and was hoping something more recent might have changed it. Is it possible to get animated tokens, or will it be possible eventually? I have some cool ideas for animated tokens for special enemies or my players, but I'm not sure they'll work.

Hi Bobsplosion! There is not currently official support for animations like animated GIF format. As a Pro subscriber you can try installing an API script called Animation that might accomplish what you're looking for. This one, <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Script:Animation" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Script:Animation</a> Have you tried the API yet? Install the script under your Game Settings page, then run the !command-words in the chat-room in-game to configure it.
Hi Gold, This looks like it might do what I need, but I'm not quite sure how to install it. I want to my API scripts and I can't find "Animation" under the Roll20 API Script Library.

You need to click the button for creating a new script. The code is linked on the page given above, but here is a direct link. Note that it's a very old script and seems to call for a number of supporting scripts. I'm not sure they are needed anymore. It would be good to wait a bit for someone more knowledgable on the API to give some guidance.

Bobsplosion, I can move this thread to the API sub-forum, if you agree? May get more answers from the community there. To install an API script that is not in the Roll20 One-Click script library... usually this would be installing an API script that you found in text on the Forum... on your Game Settings &gt; API page , click New Script . Then go and Copy the script code (found in a forum post or wiki post if it's not in one-click), Paste the code under the New Script and give it a name and Save.
That may be more helpful, I'd appreciate that. If someone could clarify what Keith said about making the script work despite being old I'd appreciate it.
