The storm has passed. And though
Untergard stands, it doesn't stand tall. Survivors flood the western
half of town, while the eastern half exists as little more than
bloodstained ruins. The bridge between them, a horrific memory of
the storm. Though things have calmed, they aren't peaceful. Supplies
fade, fear holds the town, and the empire's soldiers head for their
next line. One squad remains. Their captain, a desperate man. Hope
comes from a priest of failing faith. While an exhausted mayor tries
to hold his fractured town together, an aging soldier takes his
place. Each of them questions what's left of they home, as bit by
bloody bit, it's taken away.
We are seeking one player. There are
two other players and one GM.
What type of game is this?
This game will be roleplay heavy,
placing a great focus on character interaction and development. NPC
interaction and world integration will drive the story. With that
being said, there are no “essential” characters. Players, NPC's,
they all hold the same importance. There are no chosen ones, no
heroes. You can all die just the same. Player agency is very
important and your decisions will effect the world. NPC's have that
same agency. However, no one gets something just because they want
it. Change must be earned. What kind of GM am I?
You can probably tell, but I focus on
story. While I enjoy combat, it's pretty useless without a reason. I
put effort into characters, scenarios, and locations. I'm pretty
decent and improv, so you can expect a decent flow, even if I wasn't
prepared for something. I'm not out to kill my players, I'm out to
give them some enjoyment. I really want you to feel immersed in the
game world. I don't shy away from heavy subjects, but I will never abuse them. If they are included, I will do so in a tasteful way.
As for rules, I play with what we
need. My number one rule: Don't let rules slow the game down. If they
need to get bent to keep going, then okay. I'm not going to throw the
rulebook out, but we definitely need to keep the flow up. If a player
doesn't agree with me on something, then we can talk about it. I have
no issues with listening to players. My sole warning with any
experienced player is: We don't do grid combat. I want combat to feel
like, well, combat. Hectic, fast paced, and deadly. Environment is
important when it comes to fighting. What do you need to play?
Nothing. We pretty much have
everything you would need to get into the game. You don't have to
know a lot about warhammer, this is pretty much our first time
playing in the world. You also don't need a lot of game experience.
We really don't mind teaching someone how to play. We only ask that
you be willing to act in some way. You know, portray a realistic
character. You don't need to be good at it either, effort is all we
really ask.
What kind of character can I make?
Well, just about any kind. We'll show
you the class list, even walk you through creation if you need it.
There are some small rules to keep in mind. While we joke around,
break character, or make silly references all the time, our
characters are mostly serious. I won't accept outrageous characters.
You know, all time heroes, godslayers, immortal horsemen that breath
water. In that same way, no one names their child Blood Killzemall.
Other than that, it's pretty much up to you.
When and how we play.
We use discord and roll20. We meet on
Thursday nights, 6:30 PST and play until 10:00 PST. We sometimes go
longer if we're in the middle of some all important event. However,
no more than an hour. That doesn't happen often. Our first game will
be next week, the twenty eighth.
Interested in playing?
Wonderful, glad a wall of text hasn't
scared you off. Go ahead and PM me. I work midday, so I might not be
able to reply right away. Ask any questions you might have, throw
concerns my way, give me a character idea, and include your level of
experience. We'll have a little chat, and if all goes well, we'll be
playing soon!
For those that want to give a character
idea, but don't know the setting, it's pretty much just fantasy stuff.
