Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. You open your eyes and nearly panic, thinking yourself blind until your eyes adjust to the meager candle light. You are in a cell laying on a old stained mattress with a thick iron door a few feet away from the end of your bed. The walls around you are stone, perfectly carved into a cube shaped room. As your panic subsides you are instead filled with despair. You know where you are, how could you not? Yanwu prison is as infamous as any place in the world, a place of suffering and secrets that the Aeflan empire stuffs into tightly packed tunnels filled with monstrous abominations and the unfortunates born with unseemly birth defects. This wouldn't be so terrible if it wasn't for the harsh reality that those who are put in Yanwu are never let out of Yanwu. No matter how petty the crime, or even if a crime was committed, those who enter the prison of dregs never see the light of day again. No, no you won't be like the rumors. You may not be able to vie for your innocence but you will NOT rot in this cell, or be killed by an overzealous guard or some abominable wretch. You are determined to escape, the only question on your mind in this moment is.. how? Hello, you can call me Eli! If that little cold intro caught your attention then allow me to answer some possible questions. Whats being offered: I currently have a fully prepared homebrew fantasy setting of the NobleDark/GrimDark variety that I've been preparing and revising for use in past Dungeons and Dragons campaigns that I have ran in my long career as a salty forever DM. The setting is known as Terraifon and the continent this campaign takes place on is known as Loness, a place filled with vibrant cultures ranging from a magical and naval power similar to the colonial empire known of Britain known as Artain, to an Asiatic elf empire ruled by strict hierarchy and tradition. In short, every nation or group or faction you encounter will be different with their own quirks and culture based loosely off real life with some outlandish ones mixed in. On the gameplay side, every interior map uses careful dynamic lighting and I as GM take FULL advantage of homebrew. There are hundreds of homebrewed magical items that characters have the opportunity to find in my game and many of the monsters you encounter will be homebrew creations of my own, to keep things fresh and to keep the fear of the unknown in the hearts of the players. In addition to this, every humanoid NPC you encounter will have some significance. You will never encounter a bland commoner in my campaign, every single sentient NPC has atleast two sentences of background to them, or will have it added to them should players prove spontaneous and hard to predict(as they usually are.) In fact, most the NPCs encountered have at least a paragraph of text in notes for my own use describing their bonds, background, appearance and ideals. The way you treat these characters and your interactions with them WILL effect them and the world around them. If you kill a man and he leaves a family behind, expect me to follow the internal logic of a rationally (to a point) running world when dealing with where they go from there. Your choices will matter. What I expect and what players should: As a paid GM I expect players to treat each other with respect and to actually roleplay. My DMing style is pretty fluid and I am a very relaxed person, my GMing style goes something like 60/40 Roleplay/Combat although that is liable to change due to player action. If you want to diplomacy your way through pretty much anything and you can pull out the rolls to back it up, I'll allow it, especially if your in-character arguments are convincing to whatever NPC you're dealing with. Also, I'm not some stick in the mud, if players are laughing and having a good time then I'm having a good time. My philosophy on D&D is that above all people should be having a good time, whether they achieve that through exploring the personal journey of their character in a time of distress or by contributing to a team effort to overcome obstacles, I will give you that experience. When/Where: 1:00PM-7PM PST are the times in which I and the current roster of applicants are available on weekdays. On Saturday(preferred day for sessions) I am available from 1:00PM-3AM PST. If you can make any of these times feel free to PM my roll20 account, or to add me on discord at DapperMage #2327. Currently I am searching for three players to fill in slots.
