Using default character tokens to record health

I just started using the journal feature, and I was wondering if there was a way to record health, etc. between maps. As it is, I can only get it to record one value (the "default token" I first save. I tried adding "attributes", but they aren't displayed anywhere on the token or its information as far as I can tell.
