*This game is set for Mondays @ 9:30am PST / 4:30pm GMT Introduction Orthros is stricken by conflict and fueled by hatred. Even 25 years after the Human Kingdom of Ethas waged bloody war against the Woodland Elves of Aesalion, the world still trembles in fear and tension. Though technology increases within the combined realm of Men and Dragonborn, magic has become no less prevalent, the Mage Guilds once more resurfacing as a potent power to oppose whomever would attempt to stop them, while the 12 Bastions work tirelessly to combat threats both internal and external. War is inevitable, and it’s only a matter of time before it consumes all. In the world of Orthros, the divide between kingdoms and their races is extraordinary. A long history rife with warfare and wrought with distrust has left little reason for the kingdoms of the world to harbor anything but ill-will for one another. Alliances are thin, and the treaties even thinner. Even amongst the Mage Guilds and the 12 Bastions tensions remain high as exploration and experimentation continues. Nevertheless, the appearance of Safe Havens has become more and more prevalent across the realm, and though they have sufficed to remain both hidden and neutral… not even they are safe from the world around them. The Setting: Racial tensions are high in this homebrew world, where high fantasy magic meets technology in a racially divided realm. The discovery and practice of the arcane arts (necromancy in particular) is of constant debate among the world's inhabitants, the eradication of the gnomes propelling the nations into perpetual chaos and turmoil. There is much that has already transpired, and much more that has yet to come. The history as it is written is only the beginning, and it is up to you to decide where next it goes. *As a side note: this world is not simply my own creation, but rather something that was collaboratively made between myself and my players. We have spent numerous hours using Microscope to develop the setting (the result of which will be made available to all players joining), and will continue to do so through character backstories and in game roleplay! About my experience: I have been DM'ing for many years now and have run numerous campaigns here on Roll20. I strive to provide custom high quality maps (made from purchases here on the marketplace) and constantly make use of API scripts, dynamic lighting, etc., as I attempt to make the game as easy and immersive as possible. Requirements & Disclaimers This game is going to be streamed, which means you'll need both a decent mic and camera (No potatoes!). We will be using Discord for voice and video. This game is intended to be long-term and will intentionally be quite serious. The storyline and much of what we do will be dependent on the characters and their backgrounds. With this in mind, I will be looking for players that are willing to immerse themselves in the world, its background, and their own characters. While this will be a fairly serious world and setting, comedy is inevitable, and I fully expect it to be both outrageous and inappropriate at times. If you can't take a punch (and by punch, I mean potentially being subjected to a periodic onslaught of roasting), then this game might not be for you! If you can dish it out as well as take it, then throw down an application! Play in character! Since I strive to put a lot of work into maps, stories, NPCs, etc., the goal is ultimately to craft a fun, collaborative, and immersive story-telling experience, and this means that playing in character is key. Though not necessary, voices add another layer to your character when it comes to roleplaying, and so I will definitely be looking for those who are willing to do so. House Rules: This game will be using a fair number of rules revisions, but will not solely be decided upon by myself. I will always work with my players to ensure the rules are fair, fun, and balanced. **If you have any questions or would like to post up an application for the game, throw them in the link below.** https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/99318/orthros-a-homebrew-campaign
