I have been looking over Roll20 for a couple months now and
figure it is time to take the plunge. While I would have preferred to start by playing in a game, there seems
to be an unsurprising surplus of players, so I thought I would see if I could
find a small group and DM myself.Rather
than creating a world/setting and then try to find players, I thought I would
find some players and come to an agreement on game specifics.
Looking for 2-4 players, targeting a bi-weekly Tuesday
evening 7-11 or 8-12 EST (-5 GMT) game time.I would prefer to use Discord for voice and game-planning
discussions.I will most likely create a
wiki for the game on Obsidian Portal, which would be useful for players to
access, but certainly not mandatory.It
is as much for my own help as for the players.
I am an experienced GM, having run D&D games, in various
editions, since 1979, as well as a large number of other systems.I have run games at conventions and via
play-by-post.I would never call myself
a great GM, but am a solid one and with a good group of players we can help
each other create a story.
I have a couple of settings I would like to choose between,
but they are both wide open settings, not set in stone storylines. While there will certainly be a dungeon or
two to be found, I am not looking for this game to be a dungeon crawl. As for style of game, i.e. episodic,
storyline based, political involvements, that can be discussed once we have
players.
Once I have a couple players, we can discuss details on he
world itself.
