Any Tribe 8 fans?

I love this game but I've never met anyone else who's heard of it. I've been converted along with a few other folks in real life but I don't love playing with them. Even if we can't get a game going on roll20 I'd love to talk with people with about this awesome game.

Always wanted to play it, but I don't own it - it never seemed appropriate for my gaming group. One of the better post-apocalyptic game concepts ever though.
I understand that struggle. I tried to bring around a few new players and I was just stymied by all the reading they'd have to do. There's a lot of material there and no easy concept I can use to describe it (like "steampunk DnD" for Iron Kingdoms). The concept is great! I love how it gives you this neat little civilization and then asks you to tear it down or invert it just to create a character.
Yeah - it defies a succinct description. My attempts always came out like a six year old trying to describe the plot of Gone With the Wind . "Y'see there's demons, right, and they enslaved humanity, but then..." I was also afraid of being bound into the metaplot that the reviews described. Do you think that would have been an issue in play? Well, I just noticed the books are fairly cheap over on RPGNow.
It has been an issue. Here's the long story : my SO got me into this game and he plays with two others. That would be fine exceptiI don't like playing with these two, but he does. They've been playing for a while, and there have been conflicts (SO wanted to go explore Za’bri lands but the others just... Didn't) but they made it through. Now one person took over and she's doing the final plot thing and my SO is upset. She's not doing it his way and they haven't explored all the cool places and lather rise repeat. So yeah, they all know the metaplot and it's creating conflict. Personally? The few times I've played I stuck to my character's fall and getting set up on hom. Then a little exploring and it was super fun. There's a lot to be tapped in the political situation and exploring the keepers and forests, but we all knowthe meta plot and half are itch ing tog et to it already

Kelly K. said: SO wanted to go explore Za’bri lands but the others just... Didn't Darn! That was one of the things I would have wanted to do in play - if Vimary is here...what's over there? Are there other pockets of survivors and how did they come about? I think you could do a lot with the environment in a War Against the Chtorr / Vampire Earth kind of way. Was second edition an improvement over first edition?
I haven't even gotten that far. The closest any character of mine ever got were some disturbing dreams. There is tons of potential though. So, which of the seven deaths do you like?
