Complex blending modes for tinting tokens/images

I've recently been playing around with the idea of using grayscale images for tokens so that I can tint them to show faction. However, I was unhappy to discover that the Tint option is what appears to be a 50% opacity color layered on top which obliterates a lot of fine detail and contrast in the base image. I'd really at least would like an Overlay-blend and a Colorize-blend.
