[LFG] D&D - Completely new player looking for a New Game with a mentor!

Hey there folks, Completely new player to the TableTop / Role Play thing. I am (unfortunately) an adult and have a 9-5 job, wife, and other nonsense so looking for an evening 8PM or later EST until, max 1AM-ish, on a weeknight (Monday - Thursday). Sounds simple right? Nope! I am completely new to this...as I said just now. So I am looking to join a group of people who would welcome me in all my learning-curviness and help me with everything from basics to almost basics. Maturity level doesn't matter really, just looking to have some fun while doing it. I know it's asking a lot from a stranger to basically hand hold me through a campaign, but I hope someone out there will take pity on me and help out! Let me know! Thank you for reading.
Hello there Is there a particular game or version you're looking for?  For example, are you looking for D&D 5e, D&D 3.5, some version of Star Wars, Pathfinder, or some other game?  Or are you just looking to try any game, pretty much?  If you get a little more specific, you may have some good luck finding someone.  Even if being specific is saying you're open to almost any game or system.  I myself play and run a huge variety of games, so getting an idea of what sort of thing piques your interest will help a lot Hope that helps!
Joe L. - Thank you for your reply. I was thinking Dungeons and Dragons as I like the fantasy aspect of it, but an open to anything.
Odd - says there are more posts in this thread, but I cannot see them. Maybe a PM if you can help since I am clearly bugged?

You are not bugged.  Someone posted and then deleted their post.  Post deletion does not remove anything except the ability to see the post (and then only if you are not the poster, a moderator, or a developer), so people who follow still get notified and the forum knows there's an invisible post and reports that as well.
That explains it, thank you GenKitty!
