D&D 5e Players wanted Official Play Time TBD
Older, mature, professional seeking same for weekend D&D 5e
fantasy role-playing. I’m looking to form a group of experienced,
mature, & diverse players; for possible long-term adventuring.
Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
Timezone: Eastern Standard Time
I'm looking for 4-5 mature players, with previous D&D
experience (doesn't have to be a lot or even 5e), who will make a
determined effort to play on a weekly basis (with some exceptions of
course).
We will probably use Discord, push to talk, for voice communication, Video TBD
Qualities I’m looking for:
Humility
High in Conscientiousness, Openness, and Agreeableness
Flexible thinkers
Good Sense of humor is a must
Experienced D&D player, any version. Bonus if you have more experience playing D&D than video games
Intelligent Players
Have not played, or are overly familiar with, the Curse of Strahd Adventure
This is probably NOT for you if you:
Like to argue or otherwise be contrary
Have to be right or have the last word
Have a rigid interpretation of the world or the D&D5e rules
About me: I’m an old school player in a new school world.
Experience: AD&D 1st & 2nd ed.=15+yrs playing/12yrs
DMing; D&D5e about 8 months; played a couple and ran 1 game on
Roll20. I have several years of experience playing a variety of other
RPGs and LARPs.
I prefer story and character-driven campaigns with challenging tactical combat.
What I expect from party members: To be respectful of each
other, have a cooperative play style, to know your character, to
contribute to the group experience.
What I expect from a DM: Someone knowledgeable & engaging,
who works to maintain a good game balance, with the ability to adjust
in-flow and highlight each player. The DM has the right to alter what
they see fit, but with do so with the immense responsibility of honoring
the sacred trust of the players while maintaining balance, and do so
with mindfully & great care.
I plan to start off DMing The Curse of Strahd Campaign, taking a
party to/thru level 10, and lasting 6 months to a year. After that, or
some time during, another player can DM something if they like.
This campaign is based on the Curse of Strahd, using D&D 5e
rules and format. This module will form the basis of the adventures with
possible liberties taken with the module and 5e rules to enhance play
experience.
Disclaimers:
1). While I have a good amount of DM experience, I’m a new GM for DnD5e and Roll20. It will be fun though.
2). Neither I, nor Wizards of the Coast, can be held liable for
any long-term side effects of venturing into the dread realm of
Ravenloft, such as character death, lycanthropy, vampirism, a fear of
dead things, a fear of living things, an inability to sleep without a
nightlight on and a +5 holy avenger under your pillow, and the
unsettling suspicion that Strahd is too clever to be so easily defeated
and that this is all just part of some grand scheme of his to extend his
power beyond Barovia. You didn't think you could escape unless he
wanted you to, did you?
