Total newb looking to join a fun group that can help show me the ropes.

I'e never played but I really want to give it a go. I know bringing on a newb is tough but I am willing to put in the effort. I would prefer to make this a long term thing and I'm free on Friday nights and Saturdays.

You should put your time zone in your profile and post. It helps GMs and players choose you.
It also helps to know what edition and style you are looking for.  If you want to play Call of Cthulu and be a guy teetering on the edge of madness in 1920s london that is going to be different from wanting to be a Space Marine mowing his way through the galaxy which will also be very different from a high elf wizard carefully crafting custom spells for the mageocracy which is very different from playing a geisha in a den of political intrigue trying to one-up the other court members and influence the newly crowned young emperor.
Gary....you just melted my feeble mind man....I didnt even know those were things that could happen.
All those are games I've played in or run before.  Just matters what sort of thing you are looking for.  If you want to get a good range of styles from different DMs and a wide mix of experience ranges you are welcome to join The Guild Living Campaign.  We are a group of 20+ DMs who work with 100+ characters to have all sorts of crazy adventures (all over the spectrum I talked about in my first post.  Take a look at our LFG Blurp . If it looks like something you want to play in, post on the interested players thread and you will get invited to the campaign. You can also send me a contact request on Skype at Gravymattingly if you have questions or want to be added into guild chat if you decide to join. Regardless of whether that sounds interesting or not, always post what time zone you are in for LFG threads.  "evenings" is pretty meaningless without context on our big blob of spacedust.
