Turning off whisper rolls (Lost Mine of Phandelver)

Hi -- I'm running Lost Mine of Phandelver. All GM rolls from the monster character sheets seem to be whispers to the GM. I would like these rolls to be visible to my players. I tried changing the game setting "whisper rolls to GM", but that didn't seem to impact anything. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Changing the default settings only affects newly-created characters without further action. You need to apply these settings to all characters. Look for "apply default settings" within the game.
