(LF1or2P) [D&D 5e] Sandbox, World Building, Longterm - The Souls of Illia - Weekly @8pm, Mondays, Pacific Standard Time (Campaign 5 months and going strong)

We are seeking 2 or 3 more players who wish to explore a sandbox with reasonable verisimilitude. The current players have been in game for 5 months of weekly meetings and we recently lost all but one of our wonderful ladies to work and a fire (one each). That said,we are looking for a good party balance to replace some of the casualties. Party chemistry is quite fantastic and has been the entirety of the game (I am a lucky DM), but I prefer to the team to be really even for a dynamic play experience. To that end, please read the notices in the lfg link in detail and expect a discord voice chat provided you have a great concept. Actions here will last in the world and help to shape it for good or ill. Combat is welcome, but murder-hobos need not apply. I am seeking depth in your character's even though you will be starting at first level. If you find self-expression in narrative, roleplay, and yes, combat, this game is probably for you. If you get lost in fantasy books, this game is probably for you! Make sure to read the info in the lfg link as it has some specific pieces of info beyond the setting etc. The Setting: The world of Erren has never truly known peace, but it has known prosperity. The northern wastes have remained calm for a century, and the nations surrounding the Porcelain Deeps have learned that trade is preferred to attrition. Strong rulers with an understanding of one another have conformed in large part to the Peace of Dorn's Mount. However, peace is a pause in the uneasy chaos of progress; rumors are beginning to spread of fighting to the north and east of the shield mountains which encircle the nation of Illia. Shipping is down in the Bay of Blades as increased losses have been recorded without any rise in the number of storms. King Anduin Raden of Illia has put out a call for advanced scouts, scholars, and warriors of fortune to make their way to make their way to the capital, Kingsport. All souls of favorable talent and disposition will be included in the formation of the Illian Free Company - a chartered guild with responsibility for increasing shipping and revenues of the realm. The party has finally been dispatched (after a rousing 5 months of weekly sessions) in the company aboard some of the most impressive vessels ever created. However, trouble is lurking and the party has fought well out of their weight-class. Will you answer the call? The LFG Listing where you may submit your character concept is located here . Do note that the background and concept matters far more to me than the sheet. Once your concept is approved, you will be able to post your sheet by following the instructions. Once that is complete, I will check the sheet prior to inviting you to the game.
Been a blast right from the start. We need some hardcore players for a hardcore campaign. I love those close ones - suspense in this game is better than going to the movies. The group is a good mix of characters as well as the story is pretty epic.

As it's relevant to mention, I am a woman, the only woman, in this Dungeons and Dragons group, as of right now. I can safely say that I have been thoroughly enjoying the entire campaign, from start to now. I've had moments of suspense, grief, and laughter every session. It's honestly become one of the highlights of my week, and I can't wait for the next game. It'd be nice to have more like-minded fellows join us on very engaging nights. Of course, once I stop nearly dying every game... ;)
Hi everyone, I'm Jace Bobius, currently playing the group's Light Cleric, Morater Chantel. Originally, I created Morater on-the-spot because I didn't want to sign away the copyrights to any of my other characters, in the case of the game ever going south for whatever reason. Losing him would be no big deal, and plus he's a Cleric, so he'd be sure to get accepted. Everybody loves those guys, right? Wrong. From humble origins as a bored shopkeeper's son who ran away from home to read books at the Knowledge God's temple, Morater has gone onto discover that instead of being granted divine foresight, someone upstairs has chosen him to smite transgressors with the power of the Sun. In the span of about a month of in-game time, he's gone from lowly book-keeper to the equivalent of a Cardinal. He's made best friends, saved their lives, and watched them die in front of his own eyes. He's acquired a moderate-to-severe distaste for flying, dragons, and boats. He's almost level 9, and the expedition has only just left port. Robear and Iphanyr (the two who posted before me) have stories that are similar to mine. We've all gotten moments to shine, and chances to grow our PCs beyond being sheets we look at every Monday night. It's a fun time.
And Morater also accidentally betrayed a good chunk of the group by getting power hungry because he was outwitted by political schemers >>. :P
Up we go!
Does bumping not work? We are still searching for some good folks to join our band!
LADIES and gentleman... step right up! for there is a ride you have not ridden... you think those other amateur campaigns you have played in roll20 were thrilling?!?!? I say "pah! childs' play". This campaign has pushed it to the limits quite a few times and is easily one of the best and most challenging I have played in. Please apply! talk to our guy! Monday nights could be the highlight of your week or they could just be that shitty day that comes after the weekend. Give it a shot and you might just make the team. WE NEED YOU!
Up we go? Seem to have issues bumping.
Ty mods for unlocking. We are going up! Looking for some great players with even greater concepts.
Looks like this game is now full :(
Hi Sydney, It is not, actually. We had several place holders put in but didnt realize it would fill out the game. Let my kick the correct pieces.
Per our conversation, thanks for the invite.
Hello! Your campaign sounds intriguing, but it appears to be full. Is that so, or is the LFG link merely broken? Either way, thanks for your time.
I'd love to join but your link is broken
Echoing Big Iron here. I sent a PM, to get the conversation rolling in the meantime.
Hello. Unfortunately the remaining slots filled up within 2 hours of my posting the last bump. Kira got the last slot and while i will still take apps for reserve slots, do understand that that may be quite some time in the future.

And should RL interfere with someone, please remember us! Looks like a promising campaign, and I'll always cheer for a good group.
That's disappointing! I was quite interested in the campaign. Oh, well - it sounds very promising, and I'm sure you'll all have fun.
