[LFDM] for D&D 5E: Party of beginners looking for DM to lead 5E campaign

Hello! My name's Sean, and I'm the leader of a group of guys looking for a DM for a biweekly 5E campaign. Our goal would be to run every other Saturday at 8PM EST (or later) for ~4 hours. About us: We are a group of 4 beginner players. None of us have participated in a real campaign before. We're enthusiastic about starting a campaign together and have spent a few months preparing by doing research, working on character backstories, and deciding how we want to represent ourselves. We're generally disinterested in meta-gaming (max DPS, optimal party composition, etc.) and are more focused on story and adventure driven experiences. That being said, we have a healthy respect for in-game mechanics and would follow the DM's lead for all game mechanics. No arguments here. Would prefer to start a campaign at level 1 (perhaps with a "session zero"). No preference as far as world/setting/campaign. We have a set of characters ready to go including backstories, backgrounds, and alignments. No stats have been assessed (to be addressed later). We're all in our mid 20s and have been RL friends for years. About you: Ideal DM would have experience running previous 5E campaigns. Interested and enthusiastic about captaining and introducing a group of new players to a (hopefully) long campaign. Available every other Saturday evening starting at 8PM EST. Discord-capable both during sessions and outside of sessions (for questions, concerns, etc.). Note: this is not to sound like "We need you to be online all the time and immediately respond". Moreso, it would be easier to have an open line of communication (a discord chat channel) with which the group could communicate and ask questions or chat regarding campaign during downtime. Willing to use (or let party use) D&D Beyond to manage characters and character sheets. (Note: if you are insistent upon a different method, I'm sure we could discuss it.) You choose the campaign! Questions for us to discuss: Level 1 stat assignment. Rolling dice IRL or via discord bot (Avrae) Voice or Video On occasion, some players will be at the same location IRL If you're interested in our group, please either post below, DM me on Roll20, or send me an email at seantoohey@live.com. I will regularly be checking all three spots, so any will work. I'd love to have a conversation with anyone who is interested to see if we'd be a good fit for each other.
Hi, I just finished running my 2nd campaign with my local group. Unfortunately college and job related issues wont let us run a 3rd one in the near future. So i have been interested in running a new campaign. Both campaigns i ran lasted 8 and 4 months each, with 6 and 5 players on each one. The setting was a homebrew setting i made for the party; first campaign was of a regular sword and sorcery style, while the second one was a Cyberpunk/post-apocalyptic continuation of the first one. If you are interested or want to ask questions feel free to msg back.
Heya! Disclaimer: I'm a pretty inexperienced DM, but there has to be a first for everything, and everyone, so hear me out. Sure, I'm not the most experienced, don't get me wrong, i've hosted a couple games of my own but I'm not quite there where I can stroll in here with any kind of confidence. xD That said, I'm hoping, to put it short, that since you're also beginners that we can work together, as beginners, to learn and grow, and ultimately, have a ton of fun. I want to defend myself, and write an essay on how I make up for my inexperience, but if I do that, well i'll go on for days. I'll let you decide if you want to roll the dice (pun intended) and gamble on me. Aside from that, I meet all your other expectations, and if you want to talk about anything for the next day or two i'll be checking this site religiously, so send me a PM or reply here.

Your party begins its travels at mid-day after your preparations had been fulfilled. Though you had found an anonymous scroll in search with very little detail, the lot of you had believed a curious eye is to be offered here. The main road which reminded you all the comforts of home slowly disappeared as you traveled beyond the unknown. With the once strong winds dying down and the sounds of wildlife settling in, the sun began to set and not long after, the night took over. You all agreed to set up camp at a nearby thicket believing you all were just another night away from your objective when truly, you were precisely where you needed be. Upon the first night's watch, your companion alerts all of you to a dim light not far within the passing trees. Though suspicion rose to ignore and merely travel through, the sensation of a similar curiosity began to compel each of you to submit to delve to the source. It wasn't a long travel as you found what seemed to be a hut, one of old appearance, as the wood seemed grayed and the bark almost shedding as moss overtook the roof, some hanging in front of the entrance almost as a door. The bravest of you took courage to enter, the rest of you slowly assimilating the decision. Once the moss was brushed aside, the sight of a humanoid hunched over the only form of interior laid bare before you. As his head rose, the light began to dim and only a single eye protruded from the shadow. "You have received my scroll" The figured uttered. One of you approached with the scroll in hand and placed it on the table across from him. A huff of what seemed as nostalgia is heard. "Very well." And with a wave of his hand the scroll opened and began to glow a hidden code as the dim light that was once the source was overwhelmed by the new light of the scroll. Blue and Violet and Green hues emanated the room as worlds and realms were revealed to the party of what could be, what has come to pass, and what potential thresholds the group may tap into. The group watched in awe and amazement and once the glowing lights faded, the scroll closed and the hooded figure was gone. Upon opening the scroll a new message revealed itself, 'Roll, and begin your journey.' Below the message materialized a set of weird clay bonded polyhedrons with numbers marked on each side. Hello there. My names Chris and I'm currently a new DM with much experience as a player. I have played many games of home-brewed but I wish to offer you my skills within a preset and more renown setting: The Forgotten Realms. This setting provides the basis of both mystery adventure and magic to a perfect balance and imbalance. I, of course, will help guide you all through as I learn a few things myself. with my experience as a player, I also have much experience on Roll20 so I can offer you a bit of a tutorial into the tabletop interface as well. I also reside in the EST timezone and 9pm would be a perfect starting time for me. If you are interested please, PM me on here and we can discuss further communications.
