Hey everyone, we're looking for 3 more players interested in joining a fresh, text-based campaign as detailed below, and hopefully form a group for future more expansive campaigns as well. Feel free to send me a PM if a more flexible schedule and text-based sessions are suitable to you, and once we have enough players, we'll find the right timing for the first session.
Although "Weekly" is the highest frequency on the
listing, I prefer fluid and frequent sessions. If you have some free
time throughout the week, particularly close to the weekly time and
would like to play D&D at these times, that will be great. If all
members of the group are up for a session, there might be some
spontaneous games too. I look at D&D as a video game that you might
pop in and continue playing for a while moreso than a rigid event. I'm usually around during most time frames, so don't be deterred. Which
brings me to the final point - communication. A discord channel will be
created ( Link at the campaign page on invitation ) and it's highly
important to have people who can clearly communicate their availability
or when they might not be available, instead of people who are
impossible to get a hold of or ignore announcements and messages most of
the time. If you agree, let me know in the application, those will be
prioritized.
A few words about me - A few years of DM experience, have all
the source material including recently Xanathar's, and my favorite part
of DM'ing is accounting for and reacting to ingenious plots and
independent moves taken by players. And if all of that chimes with you,
your'e fine with text and like to play often, feel free to apply.
The Murder of Sullivan Travenhurst is a short, open-world
non-linear adventure of the "Murder Mystery" Genre which takes place in
the town of Beregost and it's surroundings, within the "Forgotten
Realms" campaign setting. Most of the locations are realistically
mapped. Before you proceed any further, be advised that it is not
recommended to submit a request to join just because this is an
available session and you should be familiar or interested in the genre
since otherwise you might waste time creating a character and lose
interest quickly. Combat is present, and in my impression pretty varied,
but may take a secondary place to the majority of your
detective/puzzling activities. Lastly, this is intended for players who
like a challenge, and the difficulty in both encounters and problem
solving may be classified as "Hard", so this is not entirely recommended
for new players, unless you really know what you're doing.
Characters will be starting at level 3, with no UA or
Homebrew allowed. Official books and rules only. Statistics will be
determined through the Point Buy system.
