Looking for one replacement player for a player that dropped out.  Game time is 5PST-9PST Behold the city of splendors, Waterdeep, jewel of the north! Where rogues, sell swords, wizards and priests all come to ply their wares to make fortune, gain fame, and establish themselves as names to be remembered through history! Or simply suffer a horrific death in some dungeon, left as carrion for scavengers. Greetings, Campaign information: This is a forgotten realms campaign, set in Faerun on the Sword Coast. Players will start off in Waterdeep, but are not tied down if they wish to go somewhere else. Player wills tart at lvl 3, use point buy system for stats, Players handbook and Sword Coast guide are allowed for races and classes. Other books may be used for skills/spells at DM's choice. Encumbrance will be used, players will keep track of rations, food and ammunition. Magic items are uncommon. Starting treasure will be rolled base on character class to allow players to choose their starting gear, along with any items/money that come with your background. Dynamic Lighting is being used. There are some homebrew rules/features that I have added to the game. Mastercrafted weapons/armor can be had if you have the money and can find someone willing to make them. Players have the opportunity to eventually purchase and modify/build a base of operations with unique/special bonuses depending on their choices. Players may hire servants/hirelings to take care of their home base, cook their meals, clean their home, and guard their treasure vault while they are gone adventuring! This will be a no punches pulled campaign. Monsters will use their full abilities to try to kill you. Monsters will not simply act as bags of hps to whack on (unless they are just stupid creatures, and there are some) they will use tactics, terrain, traps, and flee if outmatched. Players can easily die if they make mistakes, or simply get unlucky. Dungeon crawls, wilderness adventures, or activities in Waterdeep will be available to players. I am looking for five players for a Sunday night game of dungeons and dragons, 5th edition. Players must be 18 years or older, and need to be reliable. If you cannot make at least 80+% of the games, please do not apply! Must be a mature player, if I make a ruling, if you object talk to me after the game. If you are interested, please post the following information, or send me a PM. 1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings? 2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? 3. What class/race do you wish to play? 4. How old are you 5. Have you played dungeons and dragons before. 6. Have you played this edition? 7. Do you know how to use roll20 8 Do you have discord, and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? 9. Can you handle adult humor? If you are easily offended, this is not the campaign for you. I am looking for adults that can take a joke and dish them out, after all, this is supposed to be fun! If I have any other questions I will ask, or if you have any questions for me please post or send me a pm.
Just a tought, it helps if you announce your timezone.
Ah yes, sorry, forgot it was in the title last time I did it. 5pst-9pst (aprox)
This post is very well written. Thumbs up Shawn.
Would you mind on elaborating about what sort of "adult humor" you mean? Because that's very broad.
Hello!! I'm willing to join as I have been looking for a campaign for a while now 1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings? 2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? 3. What class/race do you wish to play? 4. How old are you 5. Have you played Dungeons and Dragons before. 6. Have you played this edition? 7. Do you know how to use roll20 8 Do you have discord and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? 9. Can you handle adult humor? If you are easily offended, this is not the campaign for you. I am looking for adults that can take a joke and dish them out, after all, this is supposed to be fun! 1. Yes, I can, though I am working on moving. Shouldn't be a problem though! 2. Yeah, though I do have genophobia, I am hoping to overcome it. (I know, I know, lol) 3. I wish to try a tiefling monk, and I have a great background story for him. 4. Currently, 18 soon to be 19. 5. Yes, but never really finished. 6. Yes. 7. A little rusty, but yeah. 8. Yes, I do. Just private message me and I'll give it to you. 9. Of course! I mean that's what the world is like now, right? I can't wait to start and hope to hear from you soon!
Lindsay H. said: Would you mind on elaborating about what sort of "adult humor" you mean? Because that's very broad. The player I am replacing was offended because I made a joke about one of the girls in a house of ill repute a player slept with during downtime that he was lucky she didn't have a penis. Apparently that was offensive enough that he no longer wanted to play. Most of the humor will be just the normal jokes told among adult players while playing a game. I'm not trying to be Andrew Dice Clay, nor are any of the other players, but if someone is so easily offended, this game isn't for you.

I love the thought of being a part of a guild hall. Is that what the base of operations will be like? Cause that, in my opinion, is the perfect game.
1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings? Yeah, I have a very good track record and have never missed a session without warning. 2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? Absolutely 3. What class/race do you wish to play? I am flexible, depending on what the party is lacking (or strong in).  I have a Swashbuckler/Warlock infiltrator (disguise and deceit vs stealth) concept I've been toying with, but find it most fun when the party spreads its strengths so everyone has their time to shine...thus the flexibility.  Regardless, I like characters with options (so, no Champion Fighters for me). 4. How old are you? 33 5. Have you played dungeons and dragons before. Yeah, for about two years including 2 campaigns and a variety of one-shots (with a little DMing tossed in). 6. Have you played this edition? Also yes.  The vast majority of my game time has been in 5E. 7. Do you know how to use roll20? Yes, and enjoy filling in the character sheet and building macros enough that I usually help my parties do it (with a little prep you can save so much game time by not typing every roll in manually!) 8 Do you have discord, and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? Yes and yes. 9. Can you handle adult humor? Honestly, sounds like this is the perfect fit for me.  What you're talking about is kind of my default humor level, and it would be awesome not to need to filter. I really like the idea of a base of operations and the implications for developing influence in the city.  I've found gold to be fairly unimportant in my past games, but building up a base and Mastercrafted items sound like a fun way to make rewards (especially in a low magic world) more rewarding.  I've never played with all the encumbrance/ammo/etc rules before, and but I'm intrigued to try it (no mindless Str dumping!). Anyway, this game sounds like a blast and it is a pretty ideal time slot for me.  Let me know if you have any other questions for me as you figure it out!

Players can be members of a guild, and still live in the players base of operations. The base will be something that they have cleaned out during an adventure and wish to fix up/add improvements that give particular bonuses. For instance, building an alchemy lab would enable players to make potions at twice the speed. A vault would provide a relatively secure place for players to store t heir wealth. (nothing is 100% secure) etc

One of the biggest negatives of 5e is that there isn't a place players can invest/spend gold. Since magic items aren't bought and sold normally, and players will have tends of thousands of gold kicking around by the time they are tenth lvl, I wanted to give players the ability to spend wealth for benefits that actually are meaningful.  Mastercrafted weapons are 20 times more expensive than regular weapons, and provide non magical +1 to dmg and to hit. master crafted armor is half the weight as regular armor, which in a game with encumbrance ant not a lot of magic, can be significant.

Sounds like an awesome solution to the gold problem.  Even if I don't end up in this game, I'd really like to hear what kind of guidelines you have in mind around building out a base.
Thank you everyone for expressing interest. We have filled the spot, from the many people who applied. I might start a new campaign on Wednesdays as there seems to be such high demand for DMs, and I might have that night open as another campaign i was a player in seems to be falling apart.
