[LFP][PATHFINDER/3.5] New Players Welcome | Starting Anew

Hey, folks. So, I'm looking for 3 players to start a pathfinder/3.5/whatever we want campaign with. New players to the front of the line. No set schedule yet, but I will likely be personally restricted to later evenings (after 9pm) or possibly weekends (dad of 5). I'm not restrictive on game setting, race/class combo, etc., but I do have a notion to start with a fantasy setting. I've got some ideas already prepped, but I'm super flexible really. I want everyone to have a say in what kind of game they play in. Now that's out of the way, I want to lay out a basic framework for the kind of players I hope to find. Truth is, I have no close friends, and too many responsibilities to allow tabletop gaming sessions irl (or even much of a social life lol), so I'm looking for people who are willing to socialize with one another via fb, roll20, discord and the like outside of just actual game sessions. If you know nothing about the people you're playing with, the sense of camaraderie can feel a bit forced, or be completely lacking. No fun, imo. Also, getting to know one another can help to create a game where everyone has some idea of what to expect from their fellow players. I personally just think it helps the overall dynamic of a gaming group. So be willing to participate in group chats throughout the week (I know we're all busy, but everybody takes poo breaks once in awhile lol). I dont mean respond to everybody everytime, but everyone should at least be able to say hi every day or 2. If you're too busy for that, you're too busy for this game. I'm interested in telling some good stories with one another, not battling you in a game of wits to prove I'm the smartest/wittiest/most ingenious, or force you to listen to my hour long expositions. If I wanted competition, I'd play Warhammer. You should view this as a COOPERATIVE game as well, not a chance to showboat your knowledge of the ruleset or fine-tune whatever race/class combo you've been playing lately. I understand that character building from a mechanics angle is a huge part of 3.5 and pathfinder, but it's not the part I want to focus on. I'm looking for players who are willing to step both out of and into the limelight as opportunities present themselves, and to support and encourage the other players to do the same when their time comes. Needless to say, there are a few folk who probably won't enjoy what I'm offering, so let me just stop them here. Powergamers, rules lawyers, rules purists, bully-players, trolls, smart alecks and kiss-asses will probably find opportunities for their favorite pastimes severely lacking in my game. Also, if you think talking trash to someone is funny, not the place for you either. Wanna be an insult comic? Go to an open mic night. I'm not out to create a "safe space", but I won't let you derail something I dedicate bare minimum of 90 minutes a day crafting specifically for you just for the lulz. It isn't fair to anyone else at the table. Also, understand that arguments are often a part of life, and let's all do our best to handle them like adults. It is, after all, just a game. If you're gonna get fighting mad about anything to do with D&D, you're prolly too intense for the group I'm looking to put together. I want to have fun, laugh, and be excited to do it again next week. I'm sure that's what you want too. If not, move along. whew... Well, that's it. If you made it this far and still think you might be interested, give a shout and let's see what we can get going!
I would be interested though I am not new to pathfinder or 3.5, it would also depend more on what day and time you are looking to run something then what that something is. I am EST and would not be available until after 7pm my time most nights.
Hello there friend. I just played my first dnd game this week on roll20 and MY GOD I SHOULD HAVE FOUND THIS LONG TIME AGO. I really enjoy roleplaying, character and backstory creation and just making the storyline with the whole team. Im still bad and not that comfortable with voice roleplay for my characters but trying to improve. As you understand im basically a newborn baby in this thing so i will need to learn and stuff but i want this to be part of my life! And just as i started to search for people to play with in the forums, i fiund your post. Lucky me! I could even invite a friend or two to joins us for the long run. The main question from me would be what timze zone are ya based in? Since im on GMT+2

North American Central time zone, putting me 6 hours behind UTC (Greenwich based, I assume?). so if I started at 9pm, it'd be like... 5am for you?
I'm interested in joining, but I'm relatively new to Pathfinder (and brand spankin' new to Roll20). I have some familiarity with 3.5 / D&D in general, and am very interested to learn more. I'm PST and would be available mostly after 6PM.

Anton Y. said:   (Timezone GMT ) That would put the rough start time around 3am on your end. Is that a time you're wanting to work in? could bump back later, but probably not past 5am.
I'd definitely be interested! US Central here, too, so the timezone and time works great for me. I'm more familiar with 5E, but I have played Pathfinder and could probably adapt to 3.5 pretty easily. I'm 29, experienced with 5E for about 3 years, Pathfinder with about 3 months.
Are you still looking for people for Pathfinder?  I'm on PST and have been looking for a new game either wednesday or thursday.  I've been playing for about 4 years now and although I have a few ideas I'd like to try out I'm not above filling a role if needed.

Dad of 2 in the CST timezone here.  I would prefer pathfinder, but mostly because I'm more familiar with that.  I am a new player, so this would great to get to know fellow new players.  However, I am a bit of a smart aleck, but mostly just because I love to hear people laugh.  It's my weakness.  EDIT: Just noticed you are also CST.  9PM works well with me if I can get my darn wiener kids to sleep by then!  *grin*
Hello I'm new to pathfinder and roll20 and would like to start playing more often if there are any spots still open also just looking to have a fun time
If you still have some free spots, I'd love to join if you'd be cool with playing on Saturdays in the evenings! I have experience in Pathfinder already but I also love to learn 3.5!

Hey guys,  so an update:  The game is definitely still on. I'm waiting on some replies from my first few prospects, if they don't respond soon I'll move down the list. Discord server is set up, and even after the initial party is formed, you can still ask for an invite as a spectator or backup. Just give me a few days to gather the core party so I don't get my wires crossed lol.
Hi, dad of 2 here and your timeframe is perfect for me. PST. I just bought my first core Pathfinder books last week and been reading them like a madman ever since. I'd love to find a regular group, so please let me know if you end up with room.
I live in Japan (GMT+9), so I could play if you end up meeting on Friday or Saturday nights.
Hey are you still looking for players?

well, I've been working down the lists, both here and on the fb LFG group, and while plenty of people have claimed interest, nobody has accepted the discord invite. If there's a problem there, lemme know guys. I havent heard of any tho. SO, I reckon I'll have to do this a bit differently. The first 3 people who PM me requesting a discord link, and then actually join the server, I'll have as my initial party members. I've heard alot of comments basically saying that 9pm CST would work, alot of folks prefer Friday/Saturday, so that may be where we end up. But, first come, first served, and we can settle the details as a group.
